The sooner he is gone the better, i just hope when we sign a replacement in the summer that he is better than what we have at the club already.

Sign of the times that players are such overpaid primadonnas that they think it's ok to express opinions openly. The trouble is that they have the safety net of knowing the club can only punish them so far and they effectively bargain themselves a way out of the club and contract ie force the issue to a point it has to be resolved with one resolution the only one likely. Babel has pushed his luck, but doesn't it tell people on here that there must be a serious issue with Rafa?!? It takes two to argue but if one person is arguing with lots of other people then the problem is surely clear.

Riera's transfer to Russia has fallen through, because they want him to take a pay cut and won't do it. The :censored: has told the press how 'great' liverpool are, because he's realised that he has scewed himself right before a world cup.

it does make you wonder about the greed in football today.

Obviously you still get the players that would play football for free for the love of the game, but then on the other hand you get people like reira who thinks "£30k a week!! - go f*#k yourselves - I'm on £60k a week here and I aint moving for anything under 50k.

I mean only £30k a week? awww didums.

Why is everyone :censored: at Riera? Did he come out against the club or just vented against the manager? I'm asking as i really missed his comments.

"sinking ship" image seems to me quite clost to the truth the way Rafa is running things...And why Riera's comments are worse then Babel whining and moaning?

Would rather Babel get the boot then Riera which is much more talented ,Rafa players management skills are costing us another talented player (Crouch...Bellamy...)

Basically he whent onto a Spanish radio station and told everyone that benitez was a poor manager, that the club was a sinking ship and moaned that he isnt played much even though he is probably the most inconsistent player on the team...

He made these comments just a day before we played the mancs. Imagine what that could of done to the team morale.

And now that he knows he cant get his desired move to russia he starts saying that he loves this club and wants to stay. Greedy :censored:

The only thing that is sinking is Riera's chanes of playing in the world cup. Let him rot in the reserves is say.

Yes, and now he wants to stay. He says in Marca he wants to rethink his situation in summer, and if possible, stay at this club because according to him it's difficult to be somewhere better than in Liverpool.

Of course he's saying all this when the negotiations with Spartak are stuck.

Maybe the cheeky twát expects Rafa's gone in summer and with a new manager he'll have a place here?

Not after what he said, IMHO.

Marca

This is the article from where I got the post.

The quotes roughly translated:

Rafa: "We are negotiating with Spartak", and asked about the situation he said that the club only has to "sit and wait".

Riera said:

"The negotiations with Spartak are stuck. We negotiated the conditions and now it's up to them to accept what we offered them. We're studying other offers aswell, but my intention is to reassess my situation in summer. I'm a footballer, and what I want is to play football".

He continued

"I want to continue my career at Liverpool because it's one of the best clubs in the world. The crowd is outstanding, the stadium is great and I feel great in Liverpool too. It's a perfect team to play at, and we're almost the same squad that almost won the premiership last season. When I speak with Torres and Reina they concur about how great this team is".

In the mean time, the article ends, when Rafa was asked if the situation of Riera is a distraction for the team now he just answered "No".

The photo of the article is this
