Gerrard has just played 3 games in a very short time, hard enough for a player that is fit, much harder for a player carrying an injury.
So that excuses his lack of effort at times and his sulking in a liverpool shirt does it ?

Once that first whistle goes those players should put their heart and soul into winning for the club and for the fans if they dont they should get critisized and rightly so
Absolute b0ll0cks, I have plenty of co-workers who don't give anywhere near to 100%, as Stevie does, yet keep taking home a salary because they know how to talk nice to the boss etc. Why is football any different? At the end of the day they are employees and of course they have off days like all the rest of them and occasionally they are unhappy, other times in a good mood etc etc. These things all affect players because at the end of the day they are just human beings like everybody else irrespective of how much they are idolised.
BTW in what way is Stevie immune from criticism? I totally agree, as does every other poster in this thread that he has been below par this season so where is this perceived immunity from criticism?
Read a lot of the posts in this thread you clown
I expect every single liverpool player to give 100% once that first whistle goes - if that players doesnt give 100% then off the pitch you go . Especially more so from the capt .

HOW CAN YOU SAY LACK OF EFFORT IF HE IS INJURED ? How the feck do you know how much pain, discomfort and restriction of movement he is feeling ?
If you got shot in the leg and then were asked to run to the next command post, maybe you would be moaning a little by the time you arrived, especially if you knew that no matter what you did it would be a wasted fecking journey as the war was already lost.

So whose fault is it that he hasn't been taken off...... your hero and idol Rafa's. He is the manager, if he feels Gerrard is not pulling his weight its up to HIM to do something about it.

So you'd also be taking Torres off in most matches then would you because his workrate and attitude is a lot worse than last year yet he seems curiously immune to criticism from you.
I just don't agree that Stevie isn't trying his hardest, he is flying into tackles all game and sorry but it's not his job to be tracking back all the time that is why we play 2 DM's isn't it.
Can't you believe that you and Bungle favour 2 hard working donkeys (Kuyt and Lucas) over a true master of his art Stevie G, who lives and breathes for the club.

Then again that sums up a forum under current circumstances

OK WILL USE CAPS THEN AS IT SEEMS THE NORM
QUICK QUESTION
HOW THE F.UCK CAN HIS INJURY NOT BE EFFECTING HIS FORM OR HIS EFFORT WHEN HE PLAYED FOR ENGLAND RECENTLY YET ONCE HE PULLED A LIVERPOOL SHIRT ON HIS FORM IS POOR AND IS EFFORT IS NOT THERE DURING THE NEXT GAME FOR LIVERPOOL

Which is EXACTLY what I have been saying

Oh you are GYBS, I have no doubt of it now. You argue in exactly the same blinkered and childlike fashion, refusing to respond properly to posts or accept that people have differing views. The new addition to your repertoire are the cheap insults.
In my opinion Stevie is putting in the effort because he is injured so not at 100%. I didn't see the England game so can't comment but I imagine he was having to play withplayers like Kuyt, Rodriguez, Eggnog, Lucas etc. Maybe that put him in a better mood and helped his game somewhat.

So even if you believed he was destroying our club you would still support him because he is the manager of the club you support.
If it was left up to you Souness would still be our manager ?
