When its mathematically impossible to finish 4th. I want Pacheco to have a run of games, partnering up with Torres, Martin Kelly and another few of our reserves to have a go.

No chance of finishing 4th, Tottenham, City and Villa all have midweek games, Spurs win we are 7 points behind them.
City are ahead of us and have 2 games in hand.
I can see us losing at least another 2 games to be honest.

Just looking at the table, Bolton, Wigan and Wolves have all scored more goals away from home than we have!

What's the worst thing of not finishing fourth? There's a high possibility that we might lose Torres... then we are truly doomed for the next 5 years.

I did some thinking about this the past 30 minutes looking at the points and games of us and our 3 top opponents, and I came to a conclution that Villa will probably end 4th with 72 points, City 5th with 70 points, us with 69 points and Spurs with 68.Ofcourse that's just statistic and my logic and predictions, but Id give us 40% of ending 4th, from which 30% go to our "powers" of restoration and making miricles :D.We havent seen much of that this season though, but it would be an ideal time for this happen now.

I don't think we deserve to finish fourth to be brutally honest! Should any side that has lost 10 (and possibly more by the end of the season) games, deserve to play in the Champions League??

I have been in support of Rafa up until now but if we don't make the fourth spot it will surely mean the end of him and that might just be what Liverpool FC needs in the long run??

I know we need the money from being in the Champions League...but maybe it would be for the best if we don't qualify and Rafa resigned/was sacked, paving the way for a fresh start next season?

How much money would he take from us?

I agree he deserves the sack , but the rest of us get a few weeks wages, guys like Benitez and bankers who bankrupt banks get tens of millions for being rubbish at their job.

Everyone who campaigned for him to get a new contract just a year ago should hang their heads in shame.

We'll finish fourth, Villa, Man C and Tottenham ALL have to play what seems harder games,points dropped, however the biggest point in all of this is whether Benitez decides to pick his best eleven, seems simple but he never does ......... for me for the rest of the season it has to be;

Reina

Johnson  Carra  Agger   (Anyone else but Insua) I'd give Stevie Irwin a game there bearing in mind Aurelio is sicknoted Again!

Maxi Aquaman Mascherano Babel

Gerrard

Torres

Screw the bench these players need to play 90 minutes every game barring injury to a teamate. We've only got creatively Pacheco and Benayoun anyway thats up to this level, Martin at the outside. (Didn't even think about Kuyt & Lucas to me they are or should be gone!)

We could pick up all 21 points available thats the only way were gonna get there now ahead of the rest.

I've resigned to the fact that my liverpool will not finish fourth, no worries we still have the rest of lives to see them winning the premier league.

If benitez had just dropped Gerrard to CM alongside Mascherano this season we wouldn't have this thread at all. In fact if benitez had played Babel/Riera (babel to play upfront when torres is injured) on the left and benayoun on the right.....we could be in the title race as of speaking.

Gerrard can do 80% of the job alonso does....and he can contribute with more goals too. Why the F@ck does he stick with lucas there ?

Why Rafa has persisted with the same setup no matter how poorly it has gone this season is the 50 million dollar question....

That's basically the team I want to see.
Combo of Johnson and Maxi is good as they interchange with each other quite well with some one twos where as Kuyt is a bit slow or normally lose the ball with his first touch when under pressure. Kuyt can be the backup striker.

Babel has played quite well and he seems to try to close down on opponent more often than most players on the field. In other words, he seems to care. On top of that, he offers pace and his dribbling was fine. Just need someone to help him out and so far it's only Torres... Gerrard never seems bother to get close to him.

Or we can put Benny in place of Babel if the opponent doesn't have a good winger that can threaten Insua. Benny can hold the ball better to allow Insua to overrun and cross in.
