We simply do not have the funds to entice such a manager ,we have promises which instantly become broken promises ,we have dreams which are easily shattered ,we have voices that the worlds media is going to great lengths to ignore ,and we have a transfer budget that wouldn't have paid Portsmouth's phone bill .

Anyone still dreaming now ? because that's the pavement approaching fast ,sorry to burst this bubble but for those who have our feet firmly planted on planet earth ,its not going to happen ???

The thread isn't really about whether or not Mourinho is likely to become our next manager or not though Red, it never was about that. If you read the first four pages you'll see the reason I started the thread in the first place, that there was much misconception about his record and achievements. You had some posters claiming he was tactically inept, only was able to buy success etc so I decided to properly examine his record. From there I was obviously setting myself up for a barrel-load of stick as soon as he failed, although obviously I haven't had it yet.

In reality there are times when a previous argument is so categorically settled once and for all that little further needs to be said. Those who made such claims about Mourinho the manager don't need me to comment on which way the argument has swung. Like I say, sometimes events speak for themselves.

I have read it Mick and as you know I have always added my thoughts when I felt the need ,and as you will no doubt deciphered from my input although I do not like Mourinho ,I do however realize the attributes he would bring to any team ,that has never been in question mate ..
that said the interpretation of some(and I do not include you in this equation ) that he will somehow see Liverpool as a better option compared to the incomparable wealth of such teams as Man City ,well I must admit I have trouble resisting the temptation to pour a touch of cold water on their pipe dreams ,you can understand that mate cant you :D It seems I have depleted my reserves of blankets ....  :D

i dont think anyone thinks that he will come here.

I know one the last page me and Ben both mentioned the fact that if he did come here, his reasoning for it would be "X" - but I dont think either of us actually think he'll come here. I dont. Man city will be too bigger a draw for him

No problem Lad I didn't offer my views  with any post specifically in mind ,just thought that some posters actually considering  a move to The Reds would motivate him more than the substantial riches available at City was stretching the imagination a tad too much ,that's all mate

They played an excellent counter attacking game. They worked hard, kept their shape and when the game stretched late in the second half, the passing of Sneijder and the movement of their forwards won them the game.

Still, other managers have taken their sides to places like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan and achieved similar feats, so big deal :D

JOSE MOURINHO will only consider becoming the next Liverpool manager if Tom Hicks and George Gillett are stripped of power.

.The Inter Milan boss is very interested in the chance to replace Rafa Benitez this summer.

But Mourinho has no intention of joining a club with a divided boardroom under the American co-owners.

Mourinho has told associates the prospect of reviving the Merseysiders does appeal, but he would need to be sure he would have the resources to succeed. Liverpool will sound out Mourinho as they consider a change of management this summer.

But Manchester City and Real Madrid are also interested in the ex-Chelsea boss.

Ironically, Mourinho would want the same guarantees on funding and ownership at Liverpool that Benitez has demanded.

The Kop boss is aware his position is under review and his boardroom support has been evaporating since January.

As revealed last week, Benitez is also considering his future.

Mourinho is top of any list of candidates to replace the Spaniard although Manchester City and Real Madrid are also in the hunt for his services.

Although the Kop fans are divided on the position of their manager, they are united in their concern about what calibre of replacement Liverpool will attract if the Americans don't go.

There is a growing sense of desperation and exasperation at the Americans' stance as they appear to be in a state of delusion about the true value of the Merseyside club.

Kop officials will know in the next two weeks if the £100m cash injection from the Rhone Group hedge fund will go ahead

Mourinho to Real Former Chelsea boss is tempted for 10m a year
24 Mar 2010 - 15:32:49

Mourinho to Real Former Chelsea boss is tempted for 10m a year. Jose Mourinho is reportedly seeking a staggering £10million a year after tax before he even thinks about sitting in the Real Madrid hot seat. His take-home pay at Inter Milan is currently about £8m, making him the best-paid coach in the world, but he is apparently looking for another hefty pay rise to tempt him away from the San Siro.

Mourinho, a former Barcelona coach, would fancy the challenge of winning the league title in yet another league, but he is likely to seek a return to England once his Italian adventure comes to an end.

If the 47-year-old can lead Inter to Champions League glory and his second straight Scudetto, he may feel the time is right to seek a new challenge.

Reports in Spain suggest Mourinho is the No 1 target to replace beleaguered Manuel Pellegrini, who was not president Florentino Perez's first choice and has disappointed with an early exit in the Champions League and Spanish Cup.

Pellegrini is considered under serious pressure, despite Madrid sitting top of La Liga, showing just how difficult the job is in Madrid.

Former Chelsea boss Mourinho - who has also been linked with to the top jobs at Manchester City, Liverpool and, eventually, Manchester United - also apparently wants a £1.35m bonus for each trophy he delivers to Madrid.

However, the claims do come from Catalan newspaper Sport, which is not slow at stirring up trouble for the capital's top club.
Figures released by France Football this week put Mourinho's total annual earnings at £11.7m after bonuses and commercial deals.

Must be wierd being a Real Madrid supporter. Wondering who the manager is going to be each season. How on earth do they bond with the manager? I think Mourinho will go there some day but not before he returns to England.

He's defintiely off like, God knows where. We'll see I suppose. I remember him as a t0sser to be perfectly honest but I was a bit down the day he was sacked because he was a good character with the media
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Would love to see him here, the charisma he ooozes is just what this club needs. A manager of his worldwide appeal would generate guaranteed interest among the worlds richest football club buyers.

If the club had a sound business plan they could sell to him i reckon he would take it...........................afterall its Liverpool FC !

Ok so he would have no money to spend, but him being manager should keep our top stars in check for another season and he should be able to motivate our band of under achievers to better things.

Not sure what his motivation would be if he went to City..................all that money ( as nice as it is ) would just be a bit zzzzzzzzzzzz. City have nothing special to offer him.

Utd might be different, but then again Fergie doesnt appear to be in a mood to retire does he?

The only sane option left is Madrid or LFC..............

I could easily see Maureeno go to Citeh...and then in a year or two, when Rubbernose retires, switch allegiances over to the scum. That'd be right up his street....
