The club debt, an idea.....the only way forward

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I don't think the idea is as outrageous as some want to make out.

It is time to let go of the illusion of us winning the title as things are right now. That will just not happen!

Everyone around us will continue to invest this summer again and we will do jack **** and not even have the money from CL as ur rivals.

If we cleared all the debt then we could rebuild, we would still have revenues coming in, we could focus on bringing through youngsters, it would be a step back but ultimately would be a huge leap forwards.

i just think we gotta face facts that Torres, mascherano and maybe reina will be off in the summer

these are players who wanna win things, are top class players who dont wanna be struggling for 7th place who deserve better than playing with lucas and kuyt

we aint in any position to win anything

Reina - 16m
Johnson -14m
Agger - 8m
Skrtle - 5m
Cavielho - 2m
Degen - 1m
Mascherano - 22m
Gerrard - 25m
Aqualini - 12m
Babel - 8m
Reira - 6m
Benayoun - 7m
Kuyt - 4m
El Zhar - 1m
Torres -75m

GRAND TOTAL = £206 Meaning the debt is a simple £30m which SKY TV annual payments will cover.

Then we buy on frees
David James, Patrick Vieira, Joe Cole and that guy from Belguim we have already signed who can play on the left wing and up front...

Our team next season is
(First Team)..............................(Reserve)

David James................................David Martin
Martin Kelly.................................Stephen Derby
Insua..........................................Aurelio
Krygiakos....................................Ayala
Carragher...................................San Jose
Vieira........................................Plessis
Lucas........................................Spearing
Rodrigues..................................Ecclestone
Joe Cole....................................Belgiuim Player
Nemeth....................................Pacheco
Ngog........................................Dalle Valle

Fuk!n hell lad are you trying to make us feel even more depressed than we already are.

Things aren't that bad your trying to make out were another Portsmouth or something. This is a more depressing thread than any i have come across

Really?  I would have thought inventing an alter ego just to have someone agree with you = fail.  Hobo you lose.  :;):

Ok it's a mad idea for us ,but i bet you a pound to a pinch of salt that this is what will happen anyway . Maybe just maybe our fans will wake up and instead of being scared of joining SOS ,they might actually get up off of there knees and fight . Might be to late then though . The owners need to pay off a big chunk of therre debt (not our debt remember ) Gerrard to madrid £30 million Torres to Barca £50 million  sack rafa ,bring in Hodgeson who knows how to work with budget . Problem solved for now , and mid table mediocrity here we come . Better start fighting or better get used to it ,your choice .

I remember a manc fan who devised an alter ego on another forum, got caught out by arguing with someone over his original ego's posts!

Asset stripping would not be a great way to go, as if finishing outside the CL places wouldn't be bad enough in terms of attracting players, selling our squad off would be as bad if not worse. But then we may end up selling our biggest assets anyway if Rafa remains manager and the performances and results stay as bad. The owners will doubtless have the final say, they may not want to sell Torres and Gerrard but they may end up doing so, on their own counsel or on someone elses'.

The shame is that the government cares so little about who owns what in this country and too much about £££££ they can gain from takeovers. Then again who sold the club to the yanks, I don't see them mentioned a tiny percent of the amount the yanks get mentioned
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
