This is the Mike Jefferies company, Milkshake Films who are currently filming a movie about 'the premiership' http://www.milkshakefilms.com/

It also has his email address on there, mike@milkshakefilms.com, maybe we could email him and thank him for his bid  :;):

Morgan is still in there.
BBC headline states that Morgan has doubts over £100m Bid. Is Morgan going to make a counter offer ? A bidding war could be good for the club ! :D

All of this is great news, the existing mangement team of Moores and Parry will be fealing the heat. These guy's have let a lot of issues slide over the last four years:
They have sanctioned a whole phalanx of duff purchases.
They have allowed the Owen issue slip to a poor conclusion.
They almost lost SG.
They allowed the Houllier decline to go on and on.
Bring in some new control, Morgan or Jefferies it maybe dos'nt matter, but let's go, together with increased investment.  :blues:

I agree with redrider. You need to go deeper in to the club to fix the rot that seems to be eating away at the core of Liverpool.

Reds refute takover talks Sep 24 2004
Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL are not discussing a £100m takeover of the club with an American consortium, the ECHO can confirm.

What is going on ?
Jefferies tells the BBC he is in discussions !!     Parry tells the Echo no discussions.!!
I reckon Moores and Parry are on the run, Panic has set in as they feel they are losing control of their 'pet club'
Wish we could transfer these two out of the club in the January window.  ???

You don't know for sure who sanctions a purchase, I think each club is different. When Houlier was the manager then there were a lot of French purchases which would suggest the manager in this case instigated the purchases and the responsibility lays with him.

The chairmans role in most cases is to find the dosh.

If the guys is american and from the film industry then it must be good for a comedy show.

I'm not keen.

I agree. Since when did Americans know anything about football? They should stick to their own shitty football

However the Hollywood executive strongly tipped to buy into the club is good news too.

Stuff morgan his bid is far to low for a controling share it would value us at only 140mill. His money comes with far too many conditions. It remans to be seen what the conditions of this bid are ???

We may only be valued at 140mil by Morgan seems to have a passion for the club, and we could build it up. Does it really matter who has a controlling share in the club as long as the manager gets to do his job and the silver ware comes rolling in. :oh:

don't go for that money unless they guarantee us no such big revolution like chelsea after they get in LFC. But it may tempted our manager because as a manager, i think they must be always stay with good but mass spending players. However,it's time to recharge and revitalize our bussiness.

maybe Gerrard and Kewell will be another hollywood star after this. :;):

Harry Kewell starring mission impossible 3.

So you see. Morgan and the Americanised Liverpullians will want to meddle in the running of Liverpool, the football club.
Take the Thai money, if it is really there. They are only interested in partaking in the Liverpool dream.

Hmmm just read that the Americans want Moores to continue as chairman if their bid is accepted only they'll want him to be more agressive with his marketting of the club.

Steve Morgan is still in there, from todays independent :

''A bid from closer to home remains the most likely to win the power struggle at Anfield. Last month, Steve Morgan, a Merseyside-born multimillionaire building tycoon, was on the brink of agreeing to a £70 million deal that would ensure a controlling interest in the company, but that fell through because of a disagreement with the board over the financing of the club?s proposed new stadium.

Sources close to Morgan, the club's third biggest shareholder, confirmed yesterday that his offer remains on the table and voiced their suspicion at the sudden arrival on the scene of Jefferies and Ford. It was suggested that news of their interest had coincided with difficulties in the production of a $100 million football feature film trilogy named Goal!, which Jefferies is producing.

Like Morgan, though, Jefferies is a Liverpool supporter and he has insisted that his interest is genuine. "We have one of the best managers in the world and he needs some arrows to get this club back where it belongs," he said.''

I suspect that the real discussions in all this are not about the level of funding, but are more centered around how much control and money can be retained by Moores and Parry.
