Europa league - Here we come

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby kazza » Fri Feb 26, 2010 6:37 am

I thought we did well under the circumstances as it was the worst pitch conditions I have seen for a while. Babel played better and we got through a tricky tie. At This point of the season I think playing in Northern France may be better than going to Turkey (although who can forget Turkey :buttrock ). Performance was not stellar, but the job got done. Only downside was the injury to Skirtle.

On to the last 16 and on to Lille!

You may be disheartened by the progress of the team this season but you used to be much more balanced in your assessments. Whether you like Rafa or not surely you have not forgotten about football.

Me and Bill Shankly 'eh ? I remember Shankly calling Southampton an Ale House team when Southampton where in the top division, so I am in good company.

BTW It is a village team population 20,000.

Less than the population of Accrington Stanley, a stadium with capacity less than 7,000 which is the kind of capacity you find in league two and the conference,

...............................and I hear they have no running water, electricity and still burn witches! (last bit is a joke, no offence intended)

Although 20,000 doesn't quite fit in with the traditional idea of a village that you've driven through a few seconds after you notice the sign telling you the name of it! Might as well say "that was Urziceni" as "welcome to Urziceni"

Prefer to draw one of the german team i suppose. It would be best to avoid all the Spanish team until the Final. Hopefully luck will be on our side this time. If we can win this, it should make it easier for the fans. I think we have a good chance because we are usually hard to beat over two legs. Anyway, at least we have something to look forward to.
