You may be disheartened by the progress of the team this season but you used to be much more balanced in your assessments. Whether you like Rafa or not surely you have not forgotten about football.

Me and Bill Shankly 'eh ? I remember Shankly calling Southampton an Ale House team when Southampton where in the top division, so I am in good company.

BTW It is a village team population 20,000.

  St. Shanks, it has a nice ring to it :) .  You forgot to mention the village team are the Romanian champions and beat the Scottish champions so I did it for you and that village team would beat Shankly's Ale House team quite easily.

 I doubt they would have beaten Southampton then mate, nevermind the Liverpool team of those days. We are talking about a Rangers team that didn't win ONE game in the CL and LOST all 3 home games 4-1: 4-1: 2-0. So hardly a powerhouse side.  :D

Its not easy free scoring against a well organized team that has come to not concede, playing one second string striker up front but we won so I dont see a problem.
They`ll actually have to play at home so that should be a fairer reflection.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

My main objection was to being called a couch potato(e) by a MOD and getting carded for responding, while another member was also banned for his response.

I didnt know anything about that mate, was just commenting about the game like.
Who was that then supersub? Whats up with him these days? He seems to come on just to wined certain folk up.
I`ll probably get a card for that the way its going.
Who was banned mate?

any half decent side would have done it far earlier at home, especially as the opponents had been coming off the back of a long break without a game.

We are hopelessly short of creativity and it is without a doubt Rafa's fault.
This is his squad and it is full of hard working players but hardly any clever defence breaking players.
So both Saint and Supersub are right.
The result isnt too bad in that type of fixture but the performance summed up our deficiencies.
Yes we are missing a few key players but Ngog upfront on his own shows what a major f'ck up Rafa has made of our attack.
Rather than get Maxi in Jan (who i like) he should have brought in another striker, Gudjohnsson, Van nistelrooy, anyone really.
But he didnt, only he knows why.

Yeah, credit to the romanians for their organized defending and i kind of agreed with less creativity in the team besides  being too dependable on Ngog. The thing about constantly using Ngog as a lone striker would definitely make the lads quest for 4th spot and winning EL harder than it should be. I dunno why rafa manage to overlook the weaknesses upfront(besides Torres of course)and do nothing about it, but at least if we can't afford to have a new striker this season, why can't we use somebody within the squad...Kuyt perhaps? i dunno bout you guys but it would stupid to suggest that Kuyt is no better than Ngog...(duh!!). Personally i would like to see some willingness from rafa to try and maximize the options we had that relying to much on the same formula (not-that effective) week in week out.

I agree Ngog is one for the future and i think Kuyt up front on his own would be a better option.
