the only games you want us to play in are the cups rewarded by money......

I couldn't give a :censored: about the money....rather win the Europa cup than be knocked out in the semi of Champions league

sorry dude, just can't get a hard on out of failing in the CL and struggling for 4th.

Of course we'll support the team if they played against Barca or Blackpool, bu it's harder to get wood.

You saying you get the same thrill?

I do

sorry, dude, i luv ya, but bollox...

You were like the rest of us, watching the CL the last 2 nights filled with envy

:D

Mate of course I want to see us going to the San Siro and places like that but we just have to accept our situation this season and make the most of it. We will be back!

I will be treating this competition with the importance it merits ,in a Season which has seen us exit all manner of cups with sometimes the most contemptible of displays ,then this is a chance to rescue some much needed pride for the Club and for the Fans ,because believe me we have suffered greatly ....

I personally will be at Anfield along with my Lad tonight shouting my lungs out in support of the team I love ,and urging the lads on for another European adventure ,because lets face it the Club has given us more than its fair share of special journeys , and speaking from   a personal perspective I feel I owe it to my Lad that he sees no sway in my  support ,and along with all the other fans in the ground I will be hoping the effort The Reds show Tonight will be nothing less than 100% and can carry us on to Hamburg and another historic Final

You couldn't be more wrong. Read my posts last season AND this one. All I really wanted was the league, obviously you can't turn your nose up at winning the CL or the FA cup but its the league thats the holy grail for me. Small Cups(LESSER?) like the World club Championship, Charity shield or the Super cup are nice to win BECAUSE you have to win something to be in them, this EUROPA LEAGUE...... WE HAD TO LOSE TO BE IN IT.

exactly.......I will be there too...got my seat back for tonight because the UEFA hangers on will still be recovering from the swine fest at the Porto game...

SS, we're not saying we don't wanna win it, we're not saying we won't give 100% being behind the lads, we're just saying it sucks.

There's nothing wrong with being dissapointed and admitting that we're in the poormans CL.

some are saying they don't want to win it...

saint, boocity too name but 2

I will never understand why any "liverpool supporter" would want us to not win any game or win any competition we take part in.....the only games were the performance is more important than the final result are pre-season friendlies...

I certainly hope the players and staff don't have the same disregard for the competition as the ficklefan because I won't be happy......so HIGHLY PAID PAMPERED PUSSIES BEWARE your performance will be closely monitored tonight and I will report back to Newkit who tried and who skivved  :D

BOLLOX ...... I havent said I don't want to win it, I said we are in it we may as well win it. All I am saying is its not a prestigious cup and I won't be broken hearted if we lose.

No where have I said I don't want us to win ANY CUP OR ANY GAME.

Maybe you need to learn how to read as well

"Don't care about money", wow that's a new one and I think you might be in the minority.

I've never whinged........Hicks and Gillette haven't got the money so I don't expect them to give us any...I will merely comment that our manager has to sell and buy to try and compete with others that have more disposable income....

I couldn't careless how much money we got from anything,it's winning cups that matters to me....

I certainly don't start the season , thinking we need to get too the semi's to get x amount of money and finish in xth to bag a few more millions and a nice cup run to pay the laundry bill......I care about football and I don't want to be defeated in a semi because it's painful

Anyway I'm fuc.kin minted, money brings nothin but trouble  :;):

Are you really rich? What in if you don't mind me asking. Genuinely I'm interested and not because I in any way doubt that you are minted.

We can try and win this giving us something to look forward to cup wise. We actually have a shot at this. We can try the Europa out or wait a whole other year where we might come close to winning something next season as we slowly resemble arsenal who have won nothing for ages. Man Utd have won more last season than we have in the previous 4 put together ffs so we need something.

Demolishing these small teams early on could do our confidence the World of good.

Nonsense. There are now three qualifying rounds, a playoff and a group stage before the knockout stages proper. That has seen the vast majority the lesser sides filtered out leaving - at the business end (why would we be interested in what goes on in the first and second qualifying rounds?) - a last 32 that is not at all dissimilar in quality to those of 8-9 seasons ago. Put another way, if we want to get to the final it's highly likely we'll have to play at least one of the big guns.

Much depends on the draw of course, but we could conceivably face the likes of Juve, Valencia, Roma and Benfica.

So like I said, until we face these teams, its considered a farce. How is what I have said b0llocks? The system introduced by UEFA is trying to liven up a lesser competition. By getting rid of the Cup Winners Cup, they have tried to big up the UEFA cup, and messed it up badly. As each year has gone by, they have degraded the UEFA cup to our own version of the League cup. And we all know how we treat that competition.

The fact is that in every cup competition you tend to have to play lowly opposition until the business end where you encounter the 'real' competition. But nobody complains about that when it's Luton or Watford or Portsmouth or Birmingham or Reading in the FA cup, but when it's Unirea Urziceni it's a 'farce'.

Let's drop the league, too. F'uckin Wigan, Burnley, Stoke, Portsmouth. What a farce

:nod

Didn't hear anyone complaining about the quality of the opposition when back in 2005 we played the mighty TNS in the CL qualifiers, with 84 mins gone we were still only 1-0 up against this semi pro outfit.
