Exactly. Toothless and thoughtless. My stream kept hopping just after Babel came on (coincidence ?) so I can't say if he was his usual 'nothing' or not...

Game changed when Carra came off, we were instantly under more pressure defensively.  Degen made a few slack passes and was then beaten in the air by Diaby for the goal.  Great header and great cross though, not sure Carra being on would have made more difference for that.

We still could have got something out of it.  Maxi had 2 or 3 really good chances from the edge of the box and seemed to shin every one of them.  We looked more likely to create something when Gerrard dropped back to centre mid.

Fu.cking Howard Webb though, he bottled that decision big time.  Wasn't in their box but he obviously wasn't sure and thought he'd play it safe and pretend he didn't see it.  In fairness though he could have given a pen for Bendtner's...ahem ... dive.

John Degen wasn't beaten to the header, he was knowhere near it. Watch the reply as the cross came in, he started running AWAY from his marker?

Carra would of done a lot better, firstly he'd of been goal side of his man...

id rather have lost 3 points here then against city....and villa and spurs not doing much better tonight doesnt make the result all that bad, seeing as it is Arsenal away and all...

but i think we deserved a draw outta this easy, and were frustrating them well until the game opened up more and we started to lose our composure and lose the ball stupidly....think it all happened round about the time Ngog missed that opportunity when he went clear....

Babel looked lively and i thought should have been brought on abit earlier or even started alongside Ngog, cos i dont think either of them know how to lead the line properly.......we would have been more of a threat that way but probly not as secure defensively....

anyways we could have taken them tonight, as they were not that good to be honest but i guess as we are still gaining that elusive "confidence" to express ourselves more on the pitch, we'll see more defensive displays like this away from home and things like this may happen.....at least until the season gets to the very late stage....which i think is right around the corner now.

so at the end of all that babbling, bad result made bearable by other results around us (except citeh)

We may have deserved a point based on a nil nil result JC but with Ngog leading the line thats the best we could've  got.

Fair enough Bam, by 'beaten to it' I really meant nowhere near it.  However such was the quality of the cross and the height at which Diaby met it (he's a big lad and was on the jump) it might not have mattered who was near him.  Still frustrating seeing Degen's sh.ite defending of it though.

It was his running up and down the line like he was on speed that pis.sed me off though.  Playing cr@p one-twos and trying to bomb down the line - he's so obsessed with getting down the line he doesn't take any care with the passes.  He should never be risked again at right back, I said it before after the Fulham game.

In saying that woof, Ngog may never have scored tonight, but one or even two of Maxi's chances could easily have gone in and a decent ref might have spotted the Fabregas forearm smash.  Fu.cking Brazilian volleyball team would have been proud of that one.

Got dragged out to a bar by a few mates (gooners) and i only went because the last time i was there we beat united 2-0.
Wish i didn't now.
I was outnumbered by the ratio of about 50-1!

Think based on the game itself a draw would have been a fair result. But it wasn't to be.

Just have to pick ourselves up for the city game as it is vitally important!

Well I agree on the second paragraph definately. I think Carra would of done a better job on their goal though. Marking is what a defender should do and even if the ball was that high as you said, challenging Diarby may of been enough to put the fella off.

Its a fecking shame because I thought we put in a hard fecking shift and like you said Arsenal weren't that great. They definately didn't deserve all three points. But that work was undone by a moment of 'shying' away from a job. And it has me fuming.

Ah feck it, I've got to got to go to work in 25mins and help teach a chaotic bunch of Adolescent Aboriginals to read and write English. They've been terrorising the classroom teacher recently and she's currently on the verge of going insane. Its not their (children) fault, I blame Hicks and Gillett for it, w@nkers.

pretty unlucky there, i thought. i know its a cliche now but i'm sure with torres on the pitch we'd have got something out of that game. ngog seems to get into decent positions but his lack of skill and lack of aggression really let him down again. i thought that maxi was ok, and if he remembers where he left his shooting boots he'll get a few goals for us. he gets himself into nice positions and makes some clever runs. lucas did ok as well, and if his effort had gone in it would have been a screamer.

as long as we remain so toothless up front though its going to be an uphill struggle to beat man city to fourth spot.
