hmm interesting that bungleboy, I've been carded in the past for inciting people to ban someone, even though I never did it quite as blatantly as you! Mind you it must be infuriating not being able to hold an intelligent debate, much much easier to resort to tedious rhetoric and cheap insults isn't it.

Keane and especially Viera were also DM's in my opinion but offered much much more going forwards. I don't expect a DM to be like Stevie G but they should still be able to initiate some plays, I don't think I've ever seen Mascha do that.

Heimdall i dont think Keane or Viera where defensive midfielders at all.
They were more box to box, especially Keane.

They didnt screen the back four like masher does for us.

And to be fair you are comparing him with the best 2 centre midfielders in the premiership in the last 15 years probably.

apart from talkin abit much to officials, i dont think he should change for sh*t.

Every team needs someone who has that edge and aura about him, and flies into challenges like he does....he's brilliant for us, and i wouldnt him to change that aspect of his game at all. at least he shows passion for us..... he's gotten us out of ALOT more trouble then he's got us into being that type of player.

man of the match on saturday.

...and a note to the Mods.
If I was out of order, I apologise for the tone, but not for the sentiment.
This forum has/is of late become a place where some seem to incite grief for no reason other than pure malice.
It's high time we got back to basics and talked about what matters on the pitch...

That is what i was talking about and I do respect others opinions but when people start doubting how much I support the club then how the hell do you expect me to react, how would you react? I have very strong opinions and I apologise if I go on a bit but it is unfair to say i don't respect others opinions.

I'll tell you what, Masch used to wind me up a bit with his kamikaze style but I think I've figured him out.  He'll hare around the pitch like a madmen throwing himself into every challenge until he mistimes one and gets booked.  Once he's on a yellow he'll play a more disciplined game, reading the danger, containing players, tackling properly, etc.  It's almost as if he's out there to send a message that we will not be fooked with in the middle of the park until he gets a card, then he knuckles down and does the business.  The only thing that lets him down, IMO, is his propensity to yap to officials after every call against us.  The Steve Bennett incident at OT should have shown him the folly of doing so but he's never quite learned that lesson.  Those are the times I'd like to see Stevie or Carra usher him away from the official sharpish.

That's about right

Maybe we've been discipline this season but that doesn't surprise me. Failing to live up to expectations (eg. title challenge) has got us fans frustrated beyond all limits and the player shave clearly been suffering in the same way.

Liverpool have traditionally been at the top (or near to it) of the fairplay league over the past 10 years (you got the stats on that Owz?) so i'd put this season's misdemeanors down to our poor form, inability to keep the ball (you can't foul when you've got it) and the general struggles we've had getting the required/expected results.

i don't think we're particularly dirty. we've just had some shocking referees this season. degens red card was a farce. mascherano vs pompey and the greek the other day were unlucky i thought.

pienaar's tackle on the other hand was the worst tackle i've seen this season by a country mile. both that and screech's tackle on the greek were potential career enders.

We always used to be the 'nicest' team in the league and top or bottom which ever you prefer of the fair play league.

We've long needed a bit of dirt.

Are we indisciplined... NO
