i'd image we have got a sell on clause, so we win either way.  From the reports of his temperment, he had to go.

Looks like most off the posters have missed this part of the report ........

best to make up your own theories and reasons than get any real truth...

It was always bound to be used to prove our owners are cr ap, our youth policy is cr ap, our transfer dealings are cr ap or our manager's approach to giving youth a chance is cr ap

Could never be that a player just wasn't good enough. I certainly wouldn't go loaning lots of players out, says to me the squad is too big.

1st team squad (26) : Cavalieri, Johnson, Aquilani, Agger, Gerrard, Torres, Riera, Aurelio, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos, Rodriguez, Kuyt, Babel, Mascherano, Lucas, Insua, Carragher, N'Gog, Reina, Spearing, Degen, Plessis, Nemeth, Itandje, El Zhar, Darby

Academy (22) : Adorjan, Chamberlain, Clair, Coady, Cooper, Ellison, Emilsson, Flanagan, Giglio, Highdale, Ihiekwe, Ince, King, Maloney, McGiveron, Ngoo, Pepper, Roberts, Roddan, Sama, Whittle, Wisdom

The above two are taken from www.Liverpoolfc.tv, the reserves doesn't give a squad (that I can see) so I've extracted the reserves from wikipedia :

Reserves (18) : Pacheco, Bruna, Amoo, Kacaniklic, Gulacsi, Hansen, Ayala, Threlfall, Irwin, Kelly, Saric, Brouwer, Dalla Valle, Palsson, Duran, Mavinga, Mendy, Oldfield,

Loan (8, not including Itandje) : Nemeth, Simon, Wiejl, Mihaylov, San Jose, Eccleston, Bouzanis, Martin

That's 74 players at least on our books, shame the LFC site didn't give a more accessible list/figure. We've already used 28 players in the Premiership, while some of the wages may be negligible in impact, do we need that many players?!? As I said, a good indicator you've got too many players is in how many are loaned out. Citeh have loaned out nine players (same as us), they've bought too many who are much of a muchness like a novice at a football management game and they'll have players kicking their heels more than the ball.

Sure you might make a profit, one reason to load up your squad in football management games - buy cheap and sell to raise funds. But the chances are we wouldn't get that much for them, we might think £100k for Buchtmann is poor business and maybe he would become worth 20x that, but can we sustain a squad of that size and keep players who aren't fulfilling their potential?!?!? As for not being picked by Rafa, WTF?!? He can't pick players just because they're young and to fulfil some fanciful idea that the bench should be seven seventeen year olds, all from the youth team. People wanted Pacheco in the team or on the bench, he has been. So have Darby and Kelly, let's not go overboard. The Premiership isn't a Sunday morning kickabout, nor is it a football management game, so we can't afford to sacrifice the need to win over giving kids a chance. If they're good enough to make the bench they'll make it, all but maybe one or two of the 18 named in the squad need to be picked on merit.

I want to see Pacheco and Kelly figure more proiminently not because they're youngsters and youngsters need games to progress (although they do), but essentially because they're very talented players and I want to see talented players on the pitch.

Complain when the youngsters have obvious ability and aren't being given enough of an opportunity, but if their talent isn't obvious then we should be more inclined to ask why we haven't got better quality youngsters rather than criticising the manager for their lack of opportunities.

Resting of course on the idea that Darren Potter, Jon otsemobor - and indeed the vast majority of our academy players of the last 5 years or so - wouldn't have met the standard had they been given more first team opportunities.

Gossip today has us linked with another kid to put in our academy

"Liverpool are hoping to bring 14-year-old Danish forward Alexander Jacobsen, who is at FC Copenhagen, into their academy. (Daily Star)"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1....ult.stm

Who knows how good he'll be when he's 7+ years older, why go seeking foreign kids ahead of local kids? Isn't someone in UEFA/FIFA trying to clamp down on 'poaching' of kids?

Didn't Wenger sign Fabregas in somewhat similar fashion? Would you be complaining if we are the ones who signed Fabregas?

name a youngster rafa signed and groomed and has gone on to make a similar impact as Fabregas.
then, compare youth signings between Wenger and Rafa.

If he has got a bad attitude at this age what will he be like when he is older? I think so long as we have put in a decent percentage sell on clause then we cannot lose!!
