So you've left pool for Spain
do you think you'll even get a kick?
In the shirt of white, you'll look a right sight
sat on the bench scratching your d!ck.

you can afford a lifestyle of the rich n famous
you can buy big houses and cars
but on your return to Anfield
we hope Carra puts you on your ar$e

I thank you

Watched Xabi (and Arbeloa) play for the first time in front of my eyes yesterday. Looked great in the 5 v. 5 warm ups was 2 steps ahead of everyone. But I was much more impressed with Granero  :pirate   I was already a fan of the Pirate, but mostly for his nickname, not I am a bigger fan and really wish we would have asked for him in the Alonso deal. Madrid played a 4-3-3 with Alonso, Sniejder, and Granero in the midfield, Granero looking the most impressive.  But Robben absolutely stole the show in the 2nd half, he does whatever he wants when he runs at defenders. He is more dangerous than a Femme Fatal in a film noir. Higuian was clinical in his finishing and Ronaldo had some nice tricks but little end product, Kaka was unimpressive for me. Watching from the "all 22" view certainly gives you a different perspective. Really allows you to see how much more superior Madrid was at seeing the game. But also I didn't get the benefit of zoomed in shots or replays, and also it was hot as hell    and beers were $8 and it took me an hour just to get out of the parking lot, then another hour to drive home.

Attendance was 72,000, which is pretty good considering Madrid were just playing the local side. Was in a 93,000 stadium though, so there were plenty of empty seats.  I would say the crowd was probably 70% Madrid supporters, 20% DC United, 8.5% nuetral 1% Liverpool .25% Barca and .25% Arsenal, Milan, United, etc.  Certainly a noticeable difference between the ammount of people in LFC tops and the other random clubs. Thought it was quite strange. I decided to wear light blue, because I didn't want to wear, white, but I had to wear something light because it was over 100 degrees F. Got a real bad sunburn anyway. My brother wore his Espana Torres shirt, which there a couple of sprinkled around.

unfortuneatly, I don't own any, yet. I have pre-ordered the new Euro kit with Glen Johnson on the back.  I am not sure how the sizes translate to over here, so I am afraid to order XXL and find out that its only what I would call and XL in America. and the XXXL jerseys are only on the official store and sell out like hot cakes and are never in stock. So while I dillydallied on whether ALonso was going to stay (that is who I wanted) on my shirt, the XXXLs sold out in both the home and away shirts. SO then I figuired F it,  I need a freaking shirt, its been too long. But then I figured if I was going to get a Gerrard or Carra, I would want those in Red, and everybody and their mother has a Torres. Then there weren't too many players left who I could feel safe about both not leaving and not changing number And being interesting enough to warrant shirt status. I figured Glen JOhnson isn't going anywhere for a while, and he certianly isn't changing numbers, plus this shirt is unique in that its the shirt that came out in his first year at the club.  I don't think too many people will be rockin the Glen JOhnson Euro kit in the DC area, and he is an exciting player.

Think I still would have felt weird about wearing a Liverpool shirt to go and watch Madrid play DC United.  I am not really sure what was the thinking behind the LFC fans that wore the shirts.

I wear a medium. Just had a look and inside it shows the same size for US. That was for the away kit but I assume it's the same for all.

Farewell and best of luck Xabi

Thanks for the memories and I miss your class out on the field

I also miss the fact that our chances of playing against 10 men has diminished greatly

Watched Real Madrid v Rosenborg last night and with Xabi and Diarra in their midfield they looked absolutely awesome ,Xabi was spraying balls around with his usual pomp and he gelled brilliantly with the technically gifted Diarra ,Alonso was definitely the last piece of the jigsaw ,Real Madrid and especially the prolific Benzema looked unplayable at times :(
