Dossena is a player that pushes a lot in the band, but he isn't very good when he defends.
Last year Udinese played whit:
         Handanovic
Zapata      Coda     Felipe
Dossena   Inler     Pinzi    Mesto
Di Natale    Quagliarella   Floro Flores

Sorry, but my english isn't good :D

Interesting, Dossena was used as a right midfielder in a 343 system. Would seem that Rafa has perhaps signed a "defensive" player based on his ability to attack.

Big Mick will be beside himself with worry.  :D

Maybe we're going 3-4-3, we've enough CBs of quality but then again I seem to recall us playing three CBs with Pellegrino at Palace and that catastrophe effectively cost us fourth.

Udinese 2007/8

Serie A : 7th
Record : P38 W16 D9 L13 F48 A53 PTS 57

A lot of goals conceded, not that I'm inferring anything about Dossena just curious. Not a lot of teams conceded more, most any side conceded was 62 (Parma)

Serie A - Most goals conceded (07/08)

1. 62 Parma (R 19th)
2. 60 Livorno (R 20th)
3. 57 Palermo (11th)
4= 56 Reggina (16th)
4= 56 Cagliari (14th)
4= 56 Atalanta (9th)
7= 53 Napoli (8th)
7= 53 UDINESE (7th)

It's not like they scored lots of goals, surprisingly Juve scored most goals (72) and finished only third. Like Liverpool they drew way too many (12/38) and dropped too many points at home.

Anyway, let's hope Dossena isn't another JAR, we're paying enough for him. Who knows, if he turns out badly we may well put over-priced Barny at LB, Arbeloa at RB and then it really will be a farce. I thought Aurelio was doing ok until he got injured

Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

interesting thought though I doubt it, nevermind though I am always up for a challenge:
                            Reina
         Carra           Skrtel            Agger
Kuyt          Gerrard       Mascherano        Dossena
         Keane           Torres          Babel

Here's official word of Dossena's transfer from lfc.tv.....

Andrea Dossena has today put pen to paper on a four-year Anfield deal.
The Italian full-back becomes Rafael Benitez's second acquisition of the summer following the arrival of Swiss international Philipp Degen.

Dossena, who has been capped once at senior level by Italy, is seen as the ideal replacement for John Arne Riise, who departed for Roma earlier this month.

The 26-year-old began his career aged 14 with Hellas Verona in northern Italy, coming through the ranks before spending four seasons in the senior squad.

His big break came when he signed for Udinese in 2005, though he was immediately loaned to Treviso FBC 1993 for a year.

The defender returned to the Stadio Friuli ahead of the 2006-07 campaign, where his form eventually saw him make his international bow in a friendly against South Africa in October 2007.

By the end of the season his move to Merseyside had been confirmed, with Dossena saying: "Liverpool are a great team, and it is great to be linked to such a famous club. I want to play Champions League football, the Reds have already won it and they often get to the big games. In England, they are on the same level as Manchester United."

Looks fu.cking shocking to be honest.

Runs into trouble, and slow to react.
