My main concern with chucking Rafa is how long the 'mob' will give the next manager, because it will inevitably take us backwards for at least a season before eventually going forward under new leadership. Some people on here seem to think that a new manager is going to bring instant success, it isn't, it will take TIME and PATIENCE. something I doubt some of the antis on here will have in a new manager

We're Liverpool, not Chelsea  :no

Long story short: WE CAN'T WIN THE LEAGUE WITH THE YANKS IN CHARGE. End of.

Why did we come with a couple of points last season then ?

If a new manager were to come in before the end of the season, would the Rafites apologise if he does a good job?

Would the Rafites be hoping the new manager fails?, to prove their point

I would love Hiddink to come in asap, strip away all the BS, and get us playing simple football again.

Danny Murphy's interview at the weekend spoke volumes for me, his relationship with Gerrard and Carra is such that I take his words to be endorsed by them.

Do you honestly think that he would give an interview that would damage the clubs position right now?      The club he still regards as home, and the club were two of his best mates still play for?

Think about it,

If the Rafites knew Gerrard and Carra thought like Murphy, would they still want the manager to stay?

Don't talk sh!te apologise for what?

If a new manager comes in , he will be supported like he's supposed to be . It's the Liverpool way you see.

The rest of your post is me @rse . What the feck has a legend like danny murphy got to do with anything . Gerrard and carra should get on the pitch and do what there payed to do and stop feckin sulking . THere silence speaks volumes ,the pair of :censored:'s

your words speak volumes,,,

why don't you fluk off when Rafa does.

btw don't ever call Gerrard and Carra :censored:'s

never said this season was a 9/10 ???

There's nothing to suggest it will be

No i didnt say you did.

Rafa said we are a 9/10 team and Rock said we were not and made examples of why we were not.

I wish Rafa would stop trying to justify things.

Yes to be fair to him, he has got us our pride back and he did restore our massive european reputation.....BEFORE THIS SEASON.

But while we are in the middle of our worst season since houlliers last it would be better for him to not make predictions that we will definately get 4th and to not say we have massively improved. It just sets the team and himself up for a big fall imo.

I think in fairness to rafa he"s damned by most not matter what he says. If he talks without emotion that is wrong, if he talks about pride and passion that isn't right either. I think most would only be happy if he was a doom and gloom merchant crying to the interviewer that its' a shambles and even then would be right. It would be stated that a manager leads by example, remains positive at all times and takes the knocks with the positives.

To me, that is all Rafa ever does. Perhaps he doesn't do it in a way that makes us generate a minor chubby, but I don't think you can fault him on this.

Fact is, managers are asked too many repetitive questions, week in, week out about mundane BS that it's almost impossible to be original with. The guy clearly hates being interviewed and prefers to get on with it, probably seeing the whole thing as a distraction.

I fully think that what he said about what was going on in the background at the club is close to the truth. some of that is perception, but i have no doubt that most would be shocked as to what was going on. The times of the spice boys and the spiralling cost of players since the establishment of the premiership no doubt caused us all problems. I am pretty sure that cracks were being papered over left and right and Rafa's tenure has seen some of the foundations being addressed. Not saying it is perfect, but at the same time, I am sure that is what he is referring to. Eff me, if a club like West Ham has over 100 million debts AFTER having cash injected into them, it's hardly a stretch of the imagination.

Personally I think we are on the front line of the premiership 'out of control' scandals and I hope we're dealing with things well and will benefit later...the equivalent of the guy caught claiming porn expenses in comparison to the frikkin duck house guy...not too many people were worried about the Subo does dallas claim after that.

United are headed for a fall if they aren't careful, so are City, so are Chelsea..it can change overnight.

We don't really know any of the Sh1t going on there
Rafa is the man in charge
Get behind him and the team, give em the rocket they need, give em the hope that they need, re-inject the passion that they need and let's make the club great again.

If Liverpool supporters are the greatest in the world, the club, players and the manager needs you know.

oh yeah and let's tw@t Tottenham tonight

I am not saying dont be positive.

Just lets not make rash predictions that put pressure on yourself and the side.
His WE WILL GET FOURTH prediction has prompted the same questione every week by the interviewers that appear desperate for him to fail.
That Shreeves is a smarmy arrogant c'ck but because of Rafa's statement every time we drop points in the league, that smug little blurt says with a smirk, so fourth ?
Are you going to resign if you dont finish their then ? Because you did promise the fans that you would.

He has brought it upon himself.

But that question was already there before he made that statement right? That was the reason that he was prompted to say something in the first place. Everyone knows that anything less than 4th would be a huge disappointment and step backwards, so I think that the questions would be there either way.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and I am not saying that we couldn't use a lot more media management than we seem to have, but this whole discussion is blown up into something way bigger than it should be and I don't really believe he was a catalyst.

All's he had to say is we are working hard.

Thats the usual  :D

I agree the question would have been there, but perhaps the pressure less so.

Why?

Why back a lousy manager? too many people think supporting a manager is the same as supporting a club. When the wrong man is in charge he must be fired - otherwise Souness would still be here.

The manager is rubbish - going nowhere - and a draw with stoke is now a reasonable result, so low are the standards.

Rubbish? With the trophies he's won?

You're full of sh*t.

since the first season - he won  1 FA cup on penalties against West Ham.

That is all.

Did he not win a CL, a UEFA cup, two La Liga titles, and get to two other big finals? Yeah, he's rubbish.

I only care about his English record - it took him ages to get the English game.

Since the first season, 1 FA cup on penalties against WEst Ham is his only achievement.

That and not getting relegated (such are the pro benitez standards)

And yes - he is a shhit manager.

Benitez is talking shiite to try and take people's minds of hte krap job he is doing.

I agree With Ronnie Whelan - sack him now and give Dalglish 5 months to inspire the players until the end of the season and take it from there.

I imagine the players can't stand Benitez, he is annoying and unlikeable and I don't think any player feels any personal loyalty to him.
