Haven't you noticed that they have 16 points and you don't? Even Rio and Van can't save you now.

Rio well politics I suppose

Their wings done ours and thats where we fell down we were on the backfoot.  They started with pace bt Rios return and at home against us thats understandable bt Finnan and Harry were taken out by Giggs and Ronaldo.

We couldnt thread through to Garcia in the first half at all and we had no width to pass out to.

Alonso in the second half looked comfortable running the show with some great incisive passing

At the end of the day the mancs needed that and we did as well but were just blown away in areas of the game and we couldnt get long periods in posession

Our wingers let us down. If they had Finnan and Kewell tonight and we had Ronaldo and Giggs we would have won by a big margin. Kewell in particular is a disgrace to the red shirt. What happend to his pace and dribbling skills? With Finnan and Kewell gone we were 2 against 4 in midfield and we suffered, big time. And defensively (Kewell) he gave Riise no help at all. Riise was outnumbered 2 to 1 all night and had a mare. Maybe we need Duff after all? This is a sad day. Not only did we lose. But we lost our most influential player for several months. This will cost us more than the points we lost tonight.

I expect our midfield to be the following from now on: Garcia,Alonso,Nunez,Hamman.
subs: Warnock and Kewell

It's asking a lot of Nunez to come in and slot in. On current form Finnon deserves his place but Kewell doesn't. Garcia will continue to hold his place alongside the centre forward but I expect to see Baros start on Saturday instead of Cisse.

Did you see Alonso play before he arrived here? I doubt it, I want to see how Nunez plays because Rafa didn't just get him because he had to.

So do most of us and is it too much to ask to see Kewell play as well  ???

My choice in midfield for Staurday would be....

Hamann and Alonso in the middle (Stevie's injured) , Finnon on the right and Rise on the left.

Longer term I'd like to see Nunez impress so much he makes the right side his own and Kewell to find some form and play like we all know he can .....

i've just got back from the game, and read your posts. Have you all been wachting a different game to me? we where beaten by a far better side than us, end of story!  we did'nt have a shot at goal in the first half, and when stevie g went of we seemed to play much better. He just did'nt seem to be intrested. We have got to stop thinking one man can get us a result from every game. they were far better than us tonight, my heart bleeds to say that. But thats the kind of level we have to acheive.it even took us to the second half to get a corner, and i can't remember us having a shoot at goal in the first half. { so get real and get a life]    :( :(

Tonight we had two men and two girls in midfield. Nunez and Warnock welcome to the first 11. No surprise; we need 11 players if we want to win games. Finnan and Kewell where were you? And who the f@ck do Kewell think he is? He is high on him self, his big salary, his fancy cars etc. His attitude and teamwork is abysmal. Go to Sydney and work on your tan jerkball. Finnan was never made for the red colours and fair enough he did his best tonight. Pity that his best will never be good enough. Bring on Norwich. We need 3 points and a positive experience after this beating.
