You can't dispute that he has gone completely AWOL on many occasions over the past two seasons expecially. Or his penchant for diving in the box for no reason known to man. Or - dare I say it - his very, very questionable insistence on taking every deadball within 30 yards of the opposition goal....
I like the guy, but he shouldn't be put blindly up on a pedestal like you have just done...
I agree. Noone should be 'blindly' put up on a pedestal. Read the post again as it was intented - a response to an uninformed, biased piece of prattling. Nothing more. I could have gone a lot further in defending our captain who all of a sudden seems to be the centre of people's anger and frustration. I'm saying that in no way can it be said that Stevie G is disloyal and that the 'facts' presented in the newbie's post (sorrry - don't remember his name) and the comments subsequently made were ridiculous and typical of certain 'fans' you find on forums (and probably not at the games).
btw, Stevie G made 58 appearances for us last season, scoring 29 goals and making 13 assists. Hardly the stats of someone who went 'AWOL on many occasions'. And we all know he's been playing through injury this season. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to have a go at everyone but your assertion just doesn't hold up. Can we please stop having knee-jerk reactions to the problems we are having this season.
