So Rafa is playing with fire, he deserved to get burn. Only the club and fans are innocent parties.
Also the treatment of Babel is a disgrace, if you are not going to play him, then fu.ck.ing loan him back to Ajax or sell him to Brimingham for 9 mil instead of letting him rot on the bench, spoiling team morale and his market value.

Rafa is really stupidly stubborn.

Rafa is stubborn, yes, but I don't think you fully grasp some of the reasons for the things you've mentioned in your post. Why loan Babel back, or flog him if we are skint and in dire need for players? I'm sure Rafa would love to get rid of the lazy b"stard, but it's out of his hands when what good would it do to sell if you know you can't spend?

Did Rafa not grasp the fact that once he sold Alonso he needed a class player to step right in?
His best option had to be to drop SG back and spend the cash on a class forward to play alongside Torres (who has injury problems)
One of the last options must have been to pay 20ml on an injury prone Italian who needed an op that would keep him out for months

Now which option did Rafa opt for?

No, I disagree. You're probably one of those people who like to bang the "Lucas is sh*t" drum, for which is just a matter of opinion, but if you are, then surely you'd have noticed the partnership Torres and Gerrard had last season, and it clearly worked to devatating effect, so why change it? Again, if Rafa didn't buy on a player to replace Alonso, you'd be crying your lamps out about that too, wouldn't you? Rafa did what any other manager would have tried to do and find a replacement whilst keeping something that clearly was working. Hindisight is a wonderful thing for those wishing to place blame.

Spot on. At least there's still SOME intelligence left on here.

sorry mate but this forums got to the point where unless you hate the boss you got no point postin. all that happens is for every positive post 6 negativ ones get put up by the same fukin people. we get games where (occasionally yes) Lucas turns in a good performance and gets people statin 'thats how bad we are, he's our best player....'

i get the feelin one day i'm gonna log in to find the sites been renamed www.itsrafasfaultandpissoffifyoudontlikeit.com

And to think: Euthenasia would solve all of this... :D

Hindsight has nothing to do with it - relying on one quality striker for a top premeirship team isn't a plan or a system ,it's a gamble ;Leaving the MF to an inexperienced player (not talented in my opinion but whatever you say) isn't a plan it's a gamble ,spending all your money on an injured players while blindly hoping we can manage till December is not a plan it's a gamble and a stupid one.

Last season was Wonderfull but to anyone with understanding of the game it was obvious we have squeezed that lemon to it's last drop ,Rafa utilized the short tight squad to the fullest ,no chance in hell he could have replicated last season with the same deplated squad - he failed miserably ,he built on the same concept which blow in our face and again totally predictable - no hindsight what so ever.

Hmmm...

I thought the table didn't lie? (Or is that only the case when we struggle?)

On a side note, I'm pretty sure Torres and Gerrard were out for long spells last term.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Actually - no, I'm not... :nod

Lucas is a squad player at best, he proves that himself and dosnte need me or anyone banging a drum to enlighten anyone to the fact
And if he wanted to keep the Torres/SG partnership then why in gods name did he not buy a fit ready to go MF?
Now if your going to tell me there was none about that fitted the bill then would it not have been a better option to drop SG back and buy a forward?
Then again we did have Ngog and Voronin to rely upon.
Do you really think he's not responsible for this mess?
It was a forseeable accident waiting to happen.

He tried, you unimaginative, corn-headed dimwit. Have you forgotten Gareth Barry?

But come - tell me, oh wise one:

Who would YOU have signed? :eyebrow

I feel just the same mate. I would hate to see him tarnish his rep. I do however believe he could still do the job if only in the short term, and I honestly believe if he did take on the job we would see immediate benefits. If things don't work out bring in a new manager in the summer with no loss of rep or hard feelings for Dalglish.

Out of interest, if Dalglish could turn it all around - why isn't he?

He is, afterall, in our employ, is he not?

Agreed that Torres/SG is a devastating combination. But isnt it stupid just to reply on them?? what if one of them is down??
any back-up??

Maybe 18mil spend on Johnson can help...and when has he start playing CF/AM ??

Doesnt Rafa seriously think that the Torres/SG combine can last throughout the season?
If we have a good run of cup games, u mean this combination can last for 50 ++ games without any both of them getting injured?

Has Rafa gotten himself into this situation now?
Absolutely, yes.

So, essentially, what you're saying is this:

We won't continue one of the best partnerships in the World because there's a chance one or both might get injured a bit.

Brilliant.

Magnificent!

Stupendous!!!

Come on, then, Squire:

Name some young talent signed by Moris at Sh*tski...

Well I've managed it - I've reached the end of the pile of sh*te written by the dim-witted anti's.

Yay me.

Can I just say that I pity all your boyfriends - having to put up with childish, impatient turds like you lot all day, every day. :no

They ALL deserve medals. :nod

Dalglish's role is with the kids and as an ambassador for the club, not picking the team, the formation or training the first team squad. If he tried interfering with those I think Rafa would be the first to complain.

Maybe Rafa should swop roles with him and see who does the better job  :D

The thing is, though - he's at every match. He's around the players.

If he had the Midas touch, he'd be smelting the entire squad.

I think even you must admit there is a huge difference between hanging around on match day and being the manager. At best all he can do in his present role is encourage the players when and if he gets the chance, and even then he would have to be careful not to "step on Rafa's toes".
