Probably since hes being taken to court for tax evasion he'll do anything to change the subject...

And we should never want to lose a game, and beating Stoke wouldnt change anyones mind who thinks he should stay/go

Liverpool's shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Championship strugglers Reading has heaped the pressure on Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard's long-term future has been questioned in the wake of Liverpool's poor form, but Benitez is refusing to consider his own position and is focused on this weekend's trip to Stoke.

Benitez started his news conference on Friday by reading from a statement of 'facts', in what was a light-hearted reference to the famous tirade he launched almost exactly a year ago against Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Some facts - we are not playing well and we feel sorry for our fans," said Benitez as he read from a piece of paper.

"We know every week things can change in football and we have confidence we can improve.

"Stoke is the first opportunity to improve and we will try to do it."

Benitez refused to answer any questions on his own future, preferring to concentrate on this Saturday's game at the Britannia Stadium

"We want to concentrate and it's better we talk about football," added Benitez. "We must not talk too much about the other things."

Benitez admits everyone involved at the club must take responsibility for their faltering form.

"Everyone has to take responsibility starting with us," noted Benitez. "The main thing we can do now is prepare properly for the game and we will try to do this.

"We will see against Stoke if we can improve and the best thing for me and the team is to prepare for the game properly and try to start winning games.

"We have a lot of things that we know went wrong, now we have to improve our game and the players know that too.

"We are professional and we have experience so it is a question to change things on the pitch."

Quite embarrassing. He looks and sounds like a man who knows his time is up. There was very little tension in his voice and body language which is unusual. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has been told that the club is looking for a replacement and he can leave once a new manager is confirmed.

If that were true, he'd have walked already. He did the same with Valencia.

If Rafa does not leave, he'll ask another 20M for new players....and based on his record signings, it won't do much good....and we risk the season as well...

bottom line is

WE'RE F*CKED!!!

True that   :glare:

If it's true majority of the fans in the stadium still singing for Rafa, I think it would be a convenient excuse for the Yanks not to sack Rafa.

Yanks: We listen to you!

What the f*ck are you doing on a Liverpool forum? "Yanks, we listen to you"? We'll listen to me: GO F*CK YOURSELF!

that did not go down well with me, the staye of the club is something he should not be making a joke out off. he should just :censored: off.

Be fair mate he's done the serious "we know we have to improve" talk enough times. surely it's better for him to try lift the mood a bit rather than be doom & gloom?

For what its worth, i still think most if not all fans who want Rafa out still think he's a very good manager... I do... Its just that things arent working out for him here and given the club's ambitions and obligations its probably best for the club and manager to reach an agreement.. Redknapp knows imo that things under Rafa this season are just going from bad to worse. The players dont seem interested, the fans are turning against the manager, and the owners do little to help the whole situation.
All things considered, if i was Redkapp I'd love for Rafa to stay as manager till the end of this season.. This Liverpool side are missing a spark, the manager, and none of the players just dont seem capable of turning things around atm.. You never know with a new manager though... new funds perhaps or a couple of good deals, a change in formation, tactics or approach... Maybe even just improving the morale in the dressing room could turn things around ... Atm though, i bet M.O'neil, Redknapp, and most of all Mancini are all delighted to see Rafa continuing to struggle with Liverpool this season...

Would that not be considered violent conduct and result in a 4 match ban?
