Agreed Mick but WHERE does he want to go?

Is he after Whisky´s job and always be compared to him which I doubt or is he after a challenge like LFC, Spurs, Villa etc... ?

Maybe he wants the Bitters !!

Was just watching the Inter -Siena game which they won 4-3.... they were 3-2 down at 88mins and then scored an equalizer... Then Mourinho kept Samuel as a striker and basically only played 2 at the back despite seemingly securing an unlikely draw... 93minute they scored the winner... had to be Samuel...

If it was Rafa i dont think he would have even considered playing a centerback as a forward to try and get anything out of the game... at 3-3 im sure he would have told the lads to sit back and take the point instead of pushing on... Theres a big difference in mentality between the two and like the guy or hate him, Mourinho has a winners mentality that imo translates to all the sides he manages... more than 8 years now without a home defeat !

Didnt he try it a number of times with Huth in the premiership and remember him doing it against us in the CL as well and it didnt work out - so once in how many attempts and also remember Rafa sticking sami up top in the last couple of mins when corners were reigning in and telling him to stay up .

Also how many games last season did we win or draw with last minute goals over the last couple of seasons - im sure there was a report or stat that showed we scored more goals in the last ten mins than any other team ? How did we manage that he we are sitting back ?

Trick works ONCE and a guy is a genius. How many times have I heard Vaughan given OTT credit for a field change that gets a wicket when his other six zillion produced zil-ch

In Rafa's defence, the only CB we have who scored with any regularity under him was Sami. Skrtel has scored once in 65 apps and Carra four times in 601 apps. Although Agger has scored six times (in 90 apps) that is still only once every 15 games compared to Sami's record for us of 35 in 459 apps (one in 13) and I'd hazard a guess half if not more of Agger's goals are from shots not headers.

Agger's six goals (as described on wiki)

1 : from 35 yards out vs West Ham
2 : close range volley vs Brum
3 : header vs Arsenal
4 : curler from a Stevie G free-kick move vs Chelsea
5 : free-kick vs Crewe
6 : 30 yarder vs Blackburn

If anything I'd have Agger taking our free-kicks, in range of course

I haven't checked it but they must be pulling clear now in Serie A. As Ace said, the thing is not that he stuck the centre half up top in search of the equaliser, it was that he left him up there after they'd got it and pressed for the winner. I can imagine him running up and down the touchline when they got it, the crowd going berserk, the players buzzing off their heads.

Say what you like about the bloke, but he can manage football teams. Eight years without a home defeat for three seperate clubs is incredible. It staggers me that people are either unwilling or unable to put their personal dislike for him aside.

Well he did take Porto from mid table to Champions League success in two seasons, and did take Chelsea from a mile behind Arsenal to Premiership back to back wins with record points totals Daws so I'm not sure your point holds up. That said, although I'd fairly obviously like to see him given a crack with us, it would also be fascinating to see him take over at a Newcastle if they get promoted or somebody like that. My money would be firmly o him exceeding sensible and realistic expectations comfortably were it to come to pass.

Sometimes you've just got to accept that someones achievements are special, and Mourinho's are.

Porto aint in a real league, and how much money did he spend at Chelsea?

thats my point. If he was in charge of us, he wouldnt know what to do, as he wouldnt have the bench or support from above to do it his way.

Let him stay in Italy

Exactly he waltzed into moneybags Chelsea and had success and walked into Inter when half of AC Milan were on zimmer frames and done a job!
I think he is a very good manager dont get me wrong but ffs some on here are talking as if he is a messiah!
As you say Dawson he is yet to be tested where a team requires a lot of work.

I dont think he would come to LFC while those two are in charge, too many politics and not enough ££ available.

Saying that IF Rafa were to get the sack,Id have him in an instant. There are few out there who have the credentials you would want in a new manager..surely experience in the prem and the Champions League are a must if we are to bring someone new in if we want quick success rather than another 5 year plan
