why would you want him anyway? he's just cisse mark two. another typical overrated english player.

yeah he's only strong, has got bags of pace, is still young, has scored a goal every other game this season...but other than that he's rubbish :D

My ideal (but realistic) January transfer window:

Out
Voronin - 1.5 million
Dossena - 4.5 million
Babel - 10 million
Itandje - 1 million
Degen - 1.5 million
El Zhar - 1 million

The top 3 are looking very likely

Ins
Maxi Rodriguez - 1.5 million done deal more or less
Suarez or Dzeko - price??? (maybe installments, especially on Dzeko)
Chamakh (contract agreed for summer)

Therefore the only major outlay would be on the striker.
Turan or VDV would also be nice but I think the above is more critical

suarez was bought for 7.5m euro by ajax, so i'm gonna assume his value will have at least doubled since then, so i'll say around 15-20 million pounds?
dzeko would the same i think as his contract doesnt run out until 2013. He isnt playing aswell as he was last season though so wolfsburg might be tempted cash in while his services are in demand. i know milan are interested as well and i'm sure they'd be able to match if not outbid our two yank stains

Feel free to correct me if ya think my evaluations are off :D

LIVERPOOL are ready to rival Arsenal in the battle to sign Bordeaux’s highly-rated striker Marouane Chamakh.

The Moroccan striker has been the subject of much speculation this season and is keen on a move to the Premier League determined to eager to sign a pre-contract.

Chamakh has long been linked with a move to Arsenal but the Gunners have not followed up their initial interest yet with a firm bid and that has alerted Rafa Benitez.

It is no secret the Liverpool manager wants to add to his strike force and Chamakh, a highly-rated 25-year-old, has ticks in all the right boxes, especially as he is on a Bosman.

He is eager for his future to be sorted out sooner rather than later – preferably during this transfer window – and the Reds are ready to give him a chance in the Premier League.

Chamakh’s contract with Bordeaux runs out this summer and he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs during January.

If Liverpool were to be successful in the pursuit for his signature, however, he would not move to Anfield until the end of the current campaign.

These Chamakh rumours seem to have a tad more substance about them it seems ,I for one would be delighted if this one came off he reminds me so much of Ibrahimovic in his style of play

I thought he was a dead cert for Arsenal, no ?

Good thing about Chamakh is he would be free but it's for the summer and we need someone now so I doubt we will go for him. Id rather we go for a Crouchy type. Did Pogrebnyak end up going anywhere last summer? If not him maybe Artem Millevsky.

Making the assumption that, with so many teams linked with this guys, that he is a decent player/prospect.

Looks like we've moved quickly to at least speak to the guy about a contract and, from reading the reports, he has yet to speak any other clubs. Good work Rafa.  :)

Now get him signed up!

Another gamble by Rafa......probably a misjudged one if Rafa's "great signings" are anything to go by...... I wouldn't trust him with anymore money to waste on unproven, overated, and overpriced players that we end up making a loss on after they dont make the grade.  :nod

I agree with REDTILLDEAD, not every person who scores in a champion's league group stage is a good player, even if it was against the world's best keeper :P
