Does it ?

Where have you seen that mate.
Quality player imo and definately someone that if fit would greatly improve our right hand side.

I hope you are right.

You must be talking about the last goal from the following clip. It's awesome indeed. His goals are mostly with power and accuracy, not easily done...

EDIT: HOLY :censored:, the last second goal was scored by Torres with the assist of Rodriguez.... WE MUST GET HIM!

Skysports:

Maxi Rodriguez is close to joining Liverpool according to his agent Jurgen Milewski.

The Argentine international is thought to have opened talks with the Reds at the weekend after he was purposely left out of the Atletico Madrid squad for their game against Sevilla on Saturday.

The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour in Madrid this term and looks certain to switch to the Premier League.

The former Espanyol winger is out of contract in the summer but is only likely to sign initially on a short-term loan deal.

"I can say the chances of a transfer are high," Milewski is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

In order for the transfer to go through Reds manager Rafa Benitez is looking to free up space on the wage bill by selling the likes of Andrea Dossena and Andriy Voronin, both of whom are locked in talks with respective suitors.

would be a brilliant signing imo. never had pace but his technical ability and timing of runs into the box are top class. check out his goal against us for athletico last season at anfield as proof of this.

Well it looks like a done deal. Big question now is can he play to his ability, will he help us or will people use this as another reason to slag off the manager.

Well it’s the manager’s choice to bring him in and it’s the manager’s job to get the best out of him so if he is a flop then the manager should rightly take the flak.

I thought that deal had fell through for Maxi.Good news if it's true.I think we need some older experienced players, I'm sick of us buying players with so called potential, Remember the way Gary McAllister turned our season or even Jari Litmanen was a class addition it was just a pity Houllier preferred Heskey.

I think Maxi is fine signing and the sort of quality players we should be looking at.

I would also like VDV and Turan but before those 2 we need another striker!!! From what I've seen Dzeko looks the part. Also we should be looking at Chamakh on a free in the summer.

Also on another issue has anyone noticed on matches when ever the cameras are on Benitez he only seems to be talking with Pellegrino and not Sammy Lee? This seems a little strange to me, does he even confer with Sammy? You look out for it

Talksport reckons we are in for that Chamakh guy...

Maxi will be a welcome addition to the squad and should be able to come straight in at RM for Kuyt. Good bit of business if Rafa manages to get it sorted.

Babel £8m + Dossena £5m + Voronin £2m gives Rafa some money to bring in a striker. Turan quoted at £8m - £10m so looks the most likely option to me.

Hopefully Rafa does his business early in the transfer window!!
