Turan would be nice but I don't for one minute think the money will be there to sign the lad and I don't believe we will be able to sell any of our fringe players. Van De Vart is not a bad shout but I don't think he is a Rafa type of player. Maxi Rodriguez seems a more likely bet particularly as we've been linked with him in the past, he's not the quickest but he's technically very good and he's a skillful player who would fit Rafa's system better. It seems like loan signings are going to be the order of the day so i'm guessing that rules out a move for Pavlychenko but if Redknapp likes the look of Babel i'd be all over a swap deal if they fancied it. Obviously we need cover at RB and if we've got any sense we'll try and get another option for centre-mid while we're at it.

Why would Redknapp want Babel when he's got two of the better left midfielders in Modric and Krankjar in his side ?

I dont think RealMadrid would want to loan out VanDerVaart either, he's been starting most of their games recently with Kaka out and he's one of the few who fit in the new attacking 3 system they seem to play... Unless they bring another attacking midfielder in i cant see them letting go of him on loan..

Van Nistelrooy would be a good addition to our squad if we can guarantee that he'd be fit from day 1..

Maxi would be an excellent addition but i dont think he'd fancy a move to Liverpool to be competing for a starting spot against the managers favorite player in the side.. given the fact that the main reason hes leaving AM is to get first team football to get in the WC squad, it doesnt make much sense..

Wouldnt spend much money on Turan despite him being a good player.. too much of a gamble...

If we manage to sell the likes of Babel, Voronin and Dossena then we'll probably have enough funds to go for a big player for relatively big money.. just hope Rafa doesnt waste whatever money we get on average players who wont add anything to the side..

I read recently in the news that Rafa is preparing a 3M swoop for Villa's John Carew. I think the lad would be a good addition to the squad seeing his recent form of play. He provides strong physical play in attack, holding off defenders and creating space for Torres, let alone the priority in the air.
Certainly a better option than Heskey.

If we've got no money and we're looking at a loan, we could do worse than look at Malouda off of Chelsea. He's currently not getting a game, plays down the left which is a perenial problem area for us, and Rafa has liked him in the past. He has something to prove, and as we are hardly rivals of chelsea there's no reason why they shouldn't flick him onto us.

I'd also take Nani off Man Utd but I know most wouldn't both because he has a habit of playing sh!t over often, and also because he's been a Manc. I think he's a bloke with lots of talent though.

If we've got a couple of quid to spend, we could do worse than look at Nanny's mate Scott Parker. He's different class to Lucas and would improve us overnight. As far as strikers are concerned I wouldn't go for Heskey because he's garbage, I'd rather take Benjani off of City for a similar fee, or the Brazillian fella off of Hull who's name escapes me.

Wouldn't that be like admitting that Aquilani was the wrong signing?

And if so, how could we confident about Van der Vaart, who has improved as of late, but had problems to finnish the 90 minutes of a high intensity game?

I work with some Utd supporters who are 'proper fans' in that they go to the game.
They do not rate Nani at all and furthermore 'if' he was any good Ferguson would not sell to us.

I rate Parker, and the Hull player you refer to, Giovanni. However, I think the right side of midfield and the lack of a back up striker for Torres are more important than a midfielder, unless Masch is to be sold after all.

He's a different player to Aquilani in that he has played as a LM, CM and behind the frontman. I think we would be able to accommodate a player of his quality with Riera frequently sidelined, Gerrard playing with injections, Lucas not up to standard and Aquilani yet to show too much promise.

I really couldn't tell you much about his fitness mate, all I can say is that every time I've seen him he looks to have an abundance of quality and if he didn't impress on loan we could always send him back.
