NON FOOTBALL RELATED.

For me - 911.

It was mad. Just mad.
I can still watch the planes fly into the twin towers and be amazed.

Also, the Tsunami - the scale of destruction was unbelieveable.

I think the Tsunami eclipsed everything that happened in this decade and any before it for that matter, with the acception of WW1 and 2. What I find remarkable is that the world seemed to quickly forget, yet the shadow of 9/11 has constantly loomed and is constantly being dragged up. I know one was an act of nature and one was human nature, but the devastation left by those waves can't be quantified. The fact that roughly 80,000 children alone were wiped out is too much, and just goes to show what can happen out of the blue at any given moment.

your right Emerald, had it happened on the shores of the USA or Europe then it would be front page news each year, got to agree that the Tsunami and 911 are the two events that most stick out.

The invasion of Iraq to find Weapons of Mass Destruction was another mad one.

As was finding Saddam buried in a hole in the ground.

for me, lost my dad, got married, lost my mother inlaw, my daughter was born and then only a few weeks before it was over we lost a baby............so more downs than ups.

911 will always be the big news but i think its what happens in your own life that matters in the end.

The beginning of the noughties saw me break up with my ex girlfriend we had rented a house by the cabbag in Anfield and 3 months later I moved out.I was to young to settle down and we were not meant to be together. Then Liverpool won the treble.

Come 2004-2005 I met my fiancee and also enjoyed the greatest night of my life, Istanbul of course and with that it backed my belief that everyone has their destiny mapped out for them.

closing in on the end of the decade, I know have my own mortgage and I am firmly settled down and getting married in June this year.
