He's poison - wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. No end product whatsoever....

Agree, he is not good enough for EPL!!

SSN talking like the deals for RVN, Raf Van Der Vaart and Maxi Rodrigues are all but done. All loan deals.

Makes sense to sign them all and I would be happy to see all added to our squad. Rodrigues being the most exciting as he's still a quality player.

I would give him a go, he kind of reminded me of Rob Jones making his debut because he looked that good.

It's not a question of who we can get, it's how they will be played.

Maxi update, From that Gulliam what ever his name is

On Maxi Rodriguez and Liverpool: UPDATED

Quite a few readers have been in touch asking for an update on the media reports linking Maxi Rodriguez with a move to Anfield...

UPDATE: In the last few hours sources at Atletico Madrid have revealed that Maxi Rodriguez is on the verge of a move to another club and we believe that club to be Boca Juniors. The Argentine midfielder is eager to catch the eye of Diego Maradona, his national coach, ahead of this summer`s world cup and a return to his native Argentina now appears likely. The player was left out of the Atletico Madrid squad this evening and sources in Madrid suggest that a move to Anfield has now been ruled out.

get a couple of real pacey skillful wingers ffs especially for the right side.
Kuyt just cut it for that position, he offer no pace, no technique to get past defenders...
Reira may have the skill/flair on the left but he also do not have the speed to sprint past players esp against those pacey fullbacks.
Aurelio is not left winger/mid material and Benayoun is not a natural winger and tends to cut/drift into the middle.

For god sake, rafa, buy players to play in their natural position and not convert players into the position you want them to play.

A clearout from top to bottom at the club. Owners, manager and a big chunk of the deadwood that picks up a nice salary week in week out.

Liverpool turn to Olympiakos fullback Torosidis

02.01.10 | tribalfootball.com

Greece international right-back Vasilis Torosidis is a target for Liverpool.

The Mirror says England full-back Glen Johnson, 25, faces three months out after tearing medial ligaments in Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Aston Villa.

And Reds boss Rafa Benitez is now deciding whether to bring in a cheap replacement.

Olympiakos Torosidis, 24, fits the bill as he has 25 caps for his country.

He is available for a knock-down fee and already has Juventus clamouring for his services.

For once i'm happy this rumor is on tribal football , they are never right

I feckin ope it aint true. we already got 4 right backs an I bet if this guy came he'd be exposed as a panic buy like kirgy-whatsit then Carra would end up playin rb anyway.

Can't Darby & Carra do it until kelly or Degen fit?

In all seriousness it is possible we will have to consider the unthinkable at some point in the not too distant. So weak is our squad in so many areas that only a huge injection of cash is going to redress the balance it seems to me, and there seems little point in having the best striker in the World if we haven't got a creative central midfielder, a decent right midfielder, a decent and reliable left midfielder, any striker cover, any right back cover etc.

That huge injection of cash isn't going to come anytime soon from the owners, and if it really is only through player sales which we are going to recoup some cash then we are going to have to think about all options. If we do get a new manager in the Summer (and I personally think it is inevitable barring a miracle run in the second half of the season) then it maybe the only way we can change things around radically. If we were to hold say Man City to ransom for Torres and get 120 million quid for him, as well as 30 million quid for Masherano then it is possible we could repair much of the damage which has been done to the club and end up a better team.

I do think a new manager could re-galvanise the players and get much better results than we are currently getting without buying, but we have so much expensive deadwood clogging up both the squad and the wage bill that something more radical maybe needed.

Obviously I hope it isn't the case as nobody wants to sell the best striker in the World, but the damage currently being done is going to take some time to recover from.

Rafa has just said that he has no intention of selling Babel..

So I guess he will just carry on warming the bench for the rest of the season. Why not sell Babel to get Arda??
