Hi there speechless really ...

I would just like to say that when I have ever posted 'probably' rather scathing views on rafa and his management skills people like ''Benny the noon'' ''Ciggy'' and ''Nanny'' have been very quick to 'put me right' as they say.

I have been saying this for months 'Rafa' is a poor manager with a crop of players who 'wanted' with pure desire and determination to 'win' wearing the badge of Liverpool with utmost pride.

Looking at the Liverpool team now they have no desire, no idea, no guile, no heart, no plan, no aim, no object, no goal, no intention, no intent, no purpose, no point.

Perhaps now that our team has lost its 'heart' Mr Benitiz is being seen for what he really is?

BUT...

Players do not become bad over night, this squad is the same (barring Alonso out and Johnson in) as our successful last season. When the squad is so unchanged, the burden lies with Rafa.

If it was Alonso that held the team together and the reason we have failed so badly then it's definitely Rafa's fault, for letting his relationship degrade to the point of selling him.

Rafa has no hiding place. If he had any care for the club he would do a Houllier and leave.

Be honest SCS do you really think a new manager can come in and turn things around? Theres no money for new players, there is boardroom battles to be won & lost, the players have already GIVEN UP for the season, Yossi said on wednesday before the Wigan game we cant win the league so we will try and get 4th. Which I thought was a shocking thing to say, same goes for rafa saying it. The league was far from over but if they have given up the fight for everything already a new manager would be pointless. If one came in the honeymoon lasts 2-3 games then its back to the players not caring.

One things for sure we need to find a solution to our problems and fast before we find ourselves in the bottom half of the table.

The tactics that worked with Alonso are not working any more because the personal is not up to the job, so you have to change them tactics, and we have no plan B.
Johnson and Insua havent helped the situation either, and Carra hoofing it all day long, kuyt losing possesion with his second touch its all going Pete Tong.

Hey ciggs, seriously i think a new man comin in is exactly what we need.
The confidence has gone and the tactics he is employing are just plain wrong.
Against two of the poorest sides in the league the last 2 games and we have played left backs in midfield, wtf ?

Attack them and stop bein so feckin negative all the time.

That midfield today with mash, lucas Kuyt and the Doss is the most defensive i can recall. None great in posession none very creative.
What are Torres and Stevie meant to do with that behind them ?

He has lost the plot and if someone else come in they could get the players fired up better and pick up some result.
We are in danger of coming about 8th this season.

I am a complete newbie on here but have been following the Reds since the 1970's and have been checking out this forum for 3+ years. I just felt compelled to post after the latest display! I have just watched the game and it was embarrassing. How can this be virtually the same team that took apart Aston Villa 5-0 last season.
Absolutely no fight or desire from the players. They looked clueless and devoid of confidence! Playing with ten men is tough, but we never looked like a team that believed they could get back into the game. Rafa has to take some of the blame for starting with Dossena and Lucas, but alot of it is down to the players. Agger, Johnson and Kuyt all had shockers and Gerrard and Carragher look completely disillusioned. As much as I like Rafa (because from his media profile he seems like a decent genuine guy) I think he now has to go. Sad, sad day for our wonderful club :(  :(  :(

We have too many players with either poor form or poor ability

Gerrard  ,Kuyt ,Carra and Agger are having a poor season and Lucas Mash and Insua are limited to begin with - that's seven starters which is way too much for any team to carry.

Our Subs are all sub zero ,a part from Ngong ,all the others Dossena ,Babel ,Aurellio ,Veronin ,Skertel - how are we to pull anything with such a squad.

Other Then Torres ,Reina which are sure bets we have Johnson/Benny/Reira which are on/off due to injuries and inconsistency - our squad looks decimated no inspiration and no confidence.

Biggest problem is that the man on the helm is mister exciting Rafa the engineer which looks out of touch and clueless.

Massive rebuilding is ahead and Great future to come we just need to be a little more patient.

The team selection at the start with 3 defensive midfielders suggested a fear of losing rather than sending out a more positive starting 11 with the positive intention of scoring goals
We were playing the bottom team after all..

I thought we did alright in the opening 20 minutes even if we didn't create a great deal our passing was crisp. But we never built on that and it was all downhill after the goal and the sending off. Even with only 10 ten men this is Portsmouth and we're Liverpool and we should have had a much better crack at it. Too often it broke down and I hate to say it but Kuyt in particular was just awful in that respect, really impeded our play. On the day our best players were quiet, the others were mostly passengers.

the whole mentality of the team is really BAD, we played with no urgency to show that we wanted to win the game. There maybe still many games to play till end of season but Rafa is really just wishful thinking that AV, Spurs, or even Man City will drop that many points for us to nick the 4th spot.

I am totally embarrassed to bea liverpool fan today. For almost 30 years I have followed this club. Through good and bad times. And right now we are worse than relegation fodder. We are abysmal. From the manager to the players, to the owners....an absolute shambles of a club. We see the blueshyte regularly outperform and embarrass us and they have half the players we have. Difference is though, every single one of them has a pair of nads and won't give up. Us ? An embarrassment to the same club that gave us Dalglish, Hansen, Lawrenson, Fairclough, Souness....An embarrassment to the memory of Shankly, Fagan et al.
I'll say it again - I am ashamed to say I am a fan of this club.
Bottom of the table club beats last season's runners-up. A phuckin' disgrace, that's what they are....

What a way to have to make your 2000th post....a disgrace.

Welcome and sorry it could not be in better circumstances. You mentioned Gerrard and Carra and looking at them it looks like they have given up on the team and Rafa.I have been a supporter of Rafa for a long long time but have now changed my mind. There is only so much you can blame on the owners, at the end of the day they don't pick the players and tactics and play the negative football.

Ciggy you sure u aint Rafa? U always seem to think anyone that says he needs to go is a secret man utd fan. Like one of the guys said if it was any other club Rafa would be a goner. As Rafa likes saying facts are facts this season has been a disaster, the players just aint playing for the manager anymore. Wat sort of message did it send to Portsmouth when they saw our team sheet with Dossena in midfield wtf is wrong with uncle Alberto? Why didnt he play Yossi behind Torres with Gerrard in midfield so at least we had someone who can pass longer then 5 yards and more importantly in the right direction

? Where have I said that in this topic?

I have said he and the players need a good feckin look at themselves.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011
