we are now 3 points behind birmingham, even further away from 4th place, can this season get any worse.

get the feeling that Sky think our next game is d day for Rafa.and he needs more than just a win, he needs the team to stand up for him and come out and back him in the game.

I still think we will beat wigan and put a decent run on, finishing in the top four. But if we dont beat wigan or even lose it will be the begining of a quite short end for rafa.
I`m really hoping rafa comes though for us because our owners (IMO) wouldnt shell out to bring mourinho or even o`neal here they`d go with klinsman, who seems like he`s waiting for the job, purely due to them thinking they could make on his links with nike etc. Unfortunately thats what our owners look for in a manager.
I dont know how people can be so sure that our owners would invest the cash needed to bring in a top manager like mourinho with the obligatory x amount promised for transfers.
I really dont think we can trust our owners to go out and get the right man for football reasons not commercial ones, for me its definetly a case of better the devil you know, ive got no faith in them making the right decision.
Big game today.

Do we have to sacrifice a season for some nobility?

Right now we don't have much to hold onto. Our history is fading and the americans are really working hard to destroy the way this club once behaved.

Let's not add to this by demanding that the manager be sacked mid-season. It's unlikely to happen anyway, the Americans cannot afford to pay him out.

Let's judge our Manager at the end of the season, when it will have no affect on the games being played. Call for his head then, if you feel its right, with the entire season to judge him by.

doing it now, is simply not what LFC is about. (in my opinion)

thats a big thing to say.

To be honest its quite disrespectful as well. We don’t deserve to be there at the moment, villa/spurs/arsenal deserve their places there on merit so far this season. There’s reassuring fans and then there’s being egotistical. That’s almost a jose mourinho thing to say.

Yeh we dont deserve to eb there now but by the end of the season we know we are good enough to be there.Rafa is guaranteeing it which sets him up really. He set himself a goal and a promise and i trust that we will be in 4th by end of season.

He just set the last nail to his coffin by saying that or another way of telling the fans he would leave if he cant make it.

I'm confident he will be able to get us through but whether he should stay is another matter...

it was more to do with Phil Thompson saying it than it being Sky.

of late Phil Thompson has been back at the club and i wonder if he is talking about what he knows and not what he feels.

Even if we lose there is no chance of that happening

Even if we win 10-0 tonight and go on to secure a 4th spot, I'd still want Benitez to go.

His time is up.

i agree actually tony, considering what we were meant to achieve this season, 4th place is now an absolute priority, out the prem race, out the CL, out the league cup. even if we do finish 4th it will just paper over the cracks of what has been a woeful season.
