Dalglish would be fantastic as would Hiddink and just for the sheer nostalgia of it how about Keegan?

would have loved to have been a fly on the walllast night, loads of old player met up  (for Shanks) wonder if they talked about what they think of the club right now.

hope we get to see some of the photos, anyone know who was there? was anyone from SOS there? hope so as they have been working with his daughter a lot.

Yeah I know but he is Liverpool old school and might just be able to rekindle some of the fantastic philosophies of the great man Shankly. I have no doubt he could motivate the players though and that just might be the answer!

That is simply not on.

It is November 1986 - should Manure stick with ron atkinson as manager or hire Alex ferguson?

I wish you had been on the Manure board.

Keegan

Why not just get Barnes and McAteer to be a dreamteam.

Mental stuff.

You are kidding right? He was awful at Newcastle most recently. He even said something like he hadn't been to a game in 2 years prior to that.

As for Kenny he is probably the only real choice at least in a short term capacity but id probably look to someone like O'Neil after that.

We mightn't do as well in the CL with MON (his celtic record wasn't good - strachen did better with worse), his league record is excellent - even Leicster were a top 10 team every year with him.

He knows the british game, believes in having a first 11 (no rotation bo11ox) and motivates his players. He is a great judge and Richard Dunne is back to his best for about £5m.

We'd win the league within 3 years with MON.

Hiddink would also be great for a season or two like Joe Fagan.

Martin O'Neill is a brilliant manager

Anyone really - it is impossible to believe in the future when the current boss bought all these players, picks them, motivates them, decides tactics and we're level with Birmingham.

Have to admit Niall, I wouldn't mind a punt at O'Niell.

But Klinsman, no. He was a great player in his day. But as a manager of a premiership side. I don't think so.

I'll puke if Jose comes to Liverpool though. I hated him when he was with Chelsea and I would hate him at Liverpool too. I'd end up back in the same fight as I am now with people.

"Support the manager"
"No, he's a wanker"
"Leave the manager alone! Wahhhhhh!"

Fuck all that...

:D

same record then  :D

That is simply not on.

chavski did exactly that last season and that "saved" them to a certain extent...well at least they qualifiy for CL spot....

almost all premiership managers, pundits and experts did not favour the decision at that point of time ...

they gambled and it paid off very nicely....

what would have happened to them if they still hang on to scolari at that time?

I do not want to ask myself 4 months from now "If only we could have let rafa go, we probably could have saved the season..."

But he would need some money to spend too.

Maybe he could bring Ashley Young or even Agbonlahor here too.

You know what? The more I read about who people would like to have as a new manager, the more and more I'm reminded of Newcastle United's supporters. Smacks of desparation all over the place. It's embarrassing to behold.

In retrospect, as much as I admire Kenny and as much as I would like to see him manage us, I just think this is nothing more than nostalic romanticism. Dalglish quit when times were great due to stress of pressure, so what makes people think he's gonna jump onto a sinking ship when the pressure these days would be 10 fold? What makes people think he'd want to tarnish his reputation? And if he doesn't deliver, would people be calling him clueless and calling for his head left-right-and-center also?

In short, no way Kenny will touch the manager's seat with a barge pole IMO, so I think people should just scrub the notion of him coming back here to take us to the promised land full stop. The powder keg environment of LFC these days would almost certainly have the man booking a ticket to the Algarve.
