Good to have dreams, but dream on Saint.

Dalglish has been out of management for a very long time now and apart from his success in the 80s at top level, hasn't been very effective.

Just have a very bad feeling that the :censored: will bring in a dud.

The last thing a boxer loses is his punch, the last thing a footballer loses is his footballing brain.

He hasn't been isolated on some desert island mate. Believe!

WELL IN SOS  :buttrock

Well here you are celebrating "a criminal act punishable by law" on the owners......

Tell you what.....look yourself in the mirror before questioning my support for this team.

F*ck you and the owners. How's that?

As for the game, it should have been put beyond Arsenal in the first half. Stone wall penalty, and a couple of chances that on a better day, Torres would have gobbled up. We looked, on occasion, like our old selves from last season, and it started to bare some promise until the second half. That own goal was a real boot in the teeth and indicative of our season so far, but again we'd only ourselves to blame for not going for the throat often enough. Is it Rafa's tactics? I don't know. For me, at least, he did everything and used everything he had at his disposal today to win the game. Made the right subs - for what was available - and just did everything he could to get the team attacking. Bar an OG, a ref had no bollox, and a unique wonder strike on goal from Arshavin, I felt that neither we or Arsenal deserved a win, but nor did we deserve to lose. Harsh, harsh result on us.

AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! Anyone see Ian St John on Sky Sports, he was utterly depressed and embarassed with a tribute to Shanks coming on Wednesday. Go Rafa go, your team and panel are simply not good enough. Hang your head in shame you have embarrassed the greats of this club. :veryangry

I didn't say they are not a huge fecking part of the problem, I am talking about today's game and it's mismanagement by Rafa, yet again, that's the :censored: I am talking about ffs.

Whose the better manager in your opinion? Houllier or Benitez ? Houllier in his one season (2001) won more trophies than Benitez has in his time here.

Note : Almost all the benitez brigade here thinks benitez is better than houllier. Well i don't want to get into that argument.....

So you see......with the team we are having.....any Half decent manager will be able to get them playing better and winning things....

name some then... a few of these "half-decent" managers who would suddenly start winning us trophys, and don't be coming out with names like Hiddink or Mourinho.. because they, like rafa are cetainly more than half-decent.. and any half decent manager you do get it.. what then.. sack em by next Christmas if they have a run of bad luck?

and before you say anything.. im not saying the managers blameless but i still think it's too early to talk about sacking him.. never liked the idea of sacking managers mid season.

and if or when he does finally quit the club.. under whatever circumstance, resignation or the sack i would never be happy.. and dont think anyone else should be because it means things haven't worked out positivly. i would feel regret that things have gone so bad for a manager who obviously cares about our club.

That was the final straw for me.

We're taking in defeats by the barrel load, frequently going down with barely anything to show for ourselves and this was another to add to that collection. What makes it worse is the fact that this is an opponent we're supposed to be fighting to overhaul in the table and also the fact that it was at Anfield.

The first half was fine, but the second was a total shambles and a repeat of what we've seen too often this season. We seemed to just accept the state of play, rather than busting a gut to keep our lead, or indeed showing them that this was our patch and that we're the side who should be pressing and going for a second. And even if you may argue that their equaliser was a tad fortunate, or that their second was a bit of a wondergoal, we knew there was going to be a reaction in the second half, and we know they're very dangerous in and around the box. We should have been controlling, pressing and dominating play from the beginning of the second half, not 'attempting' to after they'd gone 2-1 ahead. When they did, we had all of 30+ minutes to do something about it and the response was frankly embarrassing. We looked lost, without composure, confidence or cohesion and I think we could do with a change.

We played really well first half.
But as i have said in a few threads we are a team that are used to losing games. Its a habit that we have picked up and one that means when you concede a goal players heads naturally drop.
We didnt have any intensity second half after we fell behind and thats the most worrying thing.
This is what i have been saying about players seeming like they have had enough.
Thats the impression i have and a change is needed.

I also wont be celebrating, am gutted for Rafa but he cant get us out of this imo.

I wouldn't be confident Dalglish could turn things around s@int.

Apart from the fact that football has moved on and that going back to a club that you were previously successful at invariably doesn't work, I'd question his credentials based on his last two managerial jobs at Celtic and Newcastle - which to be honest were an absolute shambles and he was criticised for overly negative tactics and poor signings.

There are boundaries......

When i question the manager....some fans will always use the line "Liverpool fans are the best in the world, we don't question the manager....we support the manager always"...

Then.....the same "fan" celebrates "a criminal act".......Let me put it in big caps "A CRIMINAL ACT"...

As much as i don't like benitez (as a manager....i am sure as a person....he is a decent and respectful man).....i would hate it if someone crosses the line and does the same thing to his car.

I just can't understand this forum nowadays......A fan who celebrates a CRIMINAL ACT wants to question me when i admit i would be happy if benitez is sacked....

Whatever.....i gotta go to work tomorrow....... Life moves on.

bye......

That's an interesting post there considering you've an avatar of a result from last season. Were you saying that back then? How's he embarrassed the greats of the club, then? Explain. You can't come out with utter bollox like that without backing it. Ther's only one manager in our history that doesn't have my respect as a supporter, and Rafa certainly isn't him. If anything, I think Rafa prolonged the rot that we are now currently seeing taking effect on the club. It's been coming a long, long time, even before he got here.
