If we have 6-7 first team players out and then we're in a very poor form, heads will drop. It is an injury crisis and considering how close we were last season the players will be disappointed to have lost the ground so much. In these scenarios, Gerrard has to share the responsbility of rallying the troops and steadying the boat. To be fair this is probably the first time under Rafa that team's morale is this low. So give Rafa the benefit of the doubt. Things are looking up again with the injuries and alot of our first teamers are returning including Aquilani. If we win today, it'll be a good start and we will be 10 points away from the leaders. How can any fan, manager or player throw in the towel if we're only 10 points behind with more than half a season to go?

See micks post in the sack the manager thread mate.
United have had bad injuries this season and have managed to negotiate their champions league group, sit just 3 points off the top of the league and are in the semi's of the Carling cup.
There comes a time when we cant just continually make excuses.
I find it hard that people can criticise Stevie Gerrard far easier than Rafa ? WTF ?

mate WHEN exactly did man u's injuries happen? I remember only reading about it this week. ie. within a week. When did ours happen? and for how long? They have lost 4 we have lost 5. Who is to say that they will not drop more points? Who is to say that after 38 games we won't be closer to them? Judge after 38 games not before not even half way of the season.
Anyway I don't much care about comparing how they cope their injury crisis vs how we cope our injury crisis. All I'm interested is to see OUR team improve their form starting today. Tha mancs are only 8 points away from us. If we win today it'll be 5 points. This margin is not impossible to overtake...

At the start of the season, we had intentions of being in the title race, especially after finishing second last year.
"That was a big confidence boost. It gave us the belief we could fight all the way, but we've had a bad start.

Time to batten down the hatches, tomorrow or the day after.
