don't be ridiculous.

for that to happen the teams below us would all have to string two or three wins together on the bounce. they aren't good enough to do that.

Hmmm...don't know if it's so ridiculous. Maybe, I'm overstating the relegation zone bit, but we could easily end up in the bottom half of the table if we keep playing the way we are Mick.

And even if we cannot compete, because we are simply missing Torres'n'Gerrard FC, then we really are in a state.

Plus, there's no reason to believe that they'll be immune from a knock again and be out for months, which will mean bad form again and going further down the spiral. After so many years and so much money, we simply should NOT be absolutely dependent on two players.

It's truly incredible.

What is the rot people speak of mate - missing those two isnt just like missing two top players its missing two world class top of the tree outstanding players - it would be like man utd without ronaldo and rooney in past seasons - they wouldnt of won the title or chelsea missing lampard and drogba - they wouldnt win as much and arsenal without fabregas and van persie - yes they all have good back up players but there standard of football would drop greatly and be more suspect to loosing .

The standard of our play and team increases by 100% with those two and virtually irreplacable and the impact of having them back together can never be understated and yes they could get a knock or injured but i believe with them two back playing together will provide a massive increase in form and confidence .

liverpool can't even do that, well not yet anyway.

thinking about it as well this isnt the first time has had a bad run like this.

it was the season before last or the one before west ham were in the bottom 3 and over 10 games we picked up less points than them.

To be fair we've been pretty awful this season and missing our two greatest assets for most of it, compare this to Citeh who have a squad packed with £15mil+ worth of talent in most positions and what their a point ahead with a game in hand? Spurs 3 points ahead who everyone has been raving about for 4th? Arsenal who if we beat on Sunday we'll sit a point behind? If I was the above teams I'd be kicking myself thinking that why haven't we managed to put daylight between ourselves and make the most of our poor form?

Another thing if we had Citeh's squad and we were in their position, we would be expected to be winning the bloody league with that sort of investment and would now be getting absolutely slaughtered in the media for it. If we had won a few more games this season and Torres/Gerrard had played more, none of this would be an issue and everyone would continue on thinking everything was great. When things start to go wrong, any excuse will do and as long as it fits.

We're all doomed ! :D

Listen to yourselves, your like a can full of soundbites..............

I reserve the right to believe in what my club stands for and I'm not buying the media driven euphoria about how bad we are or have become.............

Arsenal have won naff all for 5 years yet the media aren't jumping all over them are they. Instead they choose to gush about their "wonderful youth policy" which has produced one player (Fabregas) and he was nicked from Barca !

Chelsea haven't won the League for 3 years and never won the CL despite their efforts yet SKY aren't spunking themselves silly over their consumate failure are they !

Liverpool Football Club will come through in the end and whether they ever win the Prem or not I'll still be still be supporting them through the wind and the rain

Walk on:p

Well, where was Arsenal at this time last season? They were awful, out of the top for and playing awful football. But they are on the up this lying 3rd now. Why can't we do the same?

Like I said, it comes down to if you believe the mangerar or the owners are mostly the root of the problem. Some would want Rafa sacked even if there was not a penny to spend in January or this summer going on about "Rafa had money to spend 2007".
All the while City, who eveyone still demand we should be above, splash out another 100 million. **** equal playing field, we are lfc and have a contract with god saying it our divine right cause we were great 25 years ago.
A manager can do only so much in todays football. If the resources iaren't there, you fall behind, even with god as your co-pilot. Simple as.
If you want to be successful you can't have owners like we do. Just not going to work to not invest and expect success.
No one can do it.
