Dani Pacheco would make a great attacking midfielder, he looks very promising.
Well, if Rafa cant get me Messi, I would like to see this lad play more often.

But that's not really true is it? There have been plenty of opportunities to play Gerrard at CM this season. I think we'd be a better team with Riera in there with either Masch or Lucas as opposed to the pair playing together, i'm not joking. As for Aquilani, I don't think him looking tired in last night's match vindicates leaving him out every match (do you?) since his debut 5 weeks ago, in fact it's quite the opposite. He (in my opinion) would have been further along the road to full match fitness had he played (for example) 30-40 minutes against the mighty Debrecen a couple of weeks ago. the truth is we should never have been in the situation where Masch and Lucas are the hub of the team.

Until gerrard got injured he played a number of games alongside lucas with yossi filling his slot behind torres - the last time was just before he got injured in oct - and the last time torres and gerrard played together until last night . And since he recovered he has been looking for form and fitness and started to look like he was getting it - with hiim and aquilani getting fitter then we will see them more and more player but i dont think rafa has much option really in most games .

Again, i don't think that is true? I remember Stevie playing a couple of games in the middle and we looked good, but then Rafa swapped it around again and we struggled (for a few games i'm sure). I particularly remember everyone on here going nuts about it! Gybs surely you must agree that Lucas and Masch is a lousy midfield partnership and it's costing us? I get the impression you think it is something that has happened by accident and that the manager has been a victim of injuries (and lack of foresight maybe?) and he's ended up having to play these two lads in there together against all intentions.

He played in the middle with Lucas in the middle of october and we won - he then went to internationals and got injured and since then we all know the story . Oh i agree that lucas and masher hasnt worked - a lot of that comes down to mashers early season poor form and the way lucas plays to safe - yes i think rafa has been stuck with them during our poor run of form but hopefully that is over now more options are becoming available to him .

Apologies it was september not october mate the 6-1 stuffing off Hull . we then played chelsea where lucas and masher were back together with gerrard higher but that was always going to happen against the top clubs - gerrard then got injured was out for a couple of matches - came back against lyon but was off after 20 odd mins - since then he has been out for a while .

Funny thing is, it isn't such a problem against the likes of Arsenal because you know they're gonna come out and play some. Blackburn park the bus in front of the goal at their own ground on Saturday and that's when you don't need these two lads manning the engine room.

I agree with you and owuld prefer to see Aquilani in there and will see him have some time on sunday but Rafa will prefer to be solid to start with then see what happens .

I hope he's not that stubborn to keep doing the same thing that yield bad result over and over again.

More opportunities for Pacheco. He could save your skin.

And also a duffel coat.
