Access, that is one thing i don't agree with. A manager never signs a check including Rafa at valencia, any manager would ask for money and say he wants certain players. But the actual money part of it has nothing to do with the manager.

I hate it when the critics are able to nod with knowing smiles that sya I told you so, When one of the greatest footballers to everplay for england has to huddle round a tv in Hungary hoping that Lyon can beat a second rate Italian team.  When those same Italians come to Anfield and celebrate as if they've won the world cup after beating a poor Liverpool side.  I hate the laughter behind our backs which haunted us under Souness, Evans and Houllier.  When all we have is the memories of great men who told it as it was and never scape goated their players for their failures.  I hate it when teams come to Anfield and have the right to treat Liverpool FC with disdain.  There is a point were the truth must be told and someone has to say the "Emperior is wearing no clothes"

So Sir Roger everything is fine then. Rafa says we will come forth (what a great achievment that is) so its a done deal.

IF we dont qualify for next years CL i agree with souness, the banks will put pressure on liverpool and will force them to sell 1 or 2 major assets, starting with torres.

I take you point but if I have friends who live in Almenara just outside Valencia and also if you like me scan the internet for past reports and information on his reign at Valencia it isnt pretty reading and I am sorry I am 'ever the optomist' but the more I read and the more I watch the more I 'doubt'

Fans of his first couple of clubs wouldn't be talking about him in particularly glowing terms either I wouldn't have thought. He did do a good job at Tenerife though, I don't think you can dispute that.

Not at all
Im as gutted as anyone. I had expectations that we would push on and win the title this season. It hasnt happened because of the things Ive listed. Rafa is the main problem and could be the solution if he changes his ways. I dont think he will but strange things happen. I am not happy with fourth but I do trust we will get there. In fact Im sticking to my prediction we will come second. We need to have faith that the team will come right, maybe in spite of Rafa. We cant keep getting on their back if we want them to gain confidence and progress. Accept that were not playing well and encourage the players to raise their game

You are spot on but the more you read into the Valencia disaster the more warning 'bells' ring what concerns me specifically is when you read that the more pressure he was under to get results the more he threw money at it......?

Rafa has got to go, its the only way to save the club right now, by this i mean i dont think he can turn it around to get us into the top 4.

Well, if he doesn't drop Kuyt for the whole season and more or less plays Lucas as 1st choice ahead of Aquaman the rest of the season, then I will have changed my mind, no doubt.
With the memories of Barnes and Beardsley I cringe when I see Kuyt showing his skill level.

For now I am willing to give Rafa the chance to turn it around this season and end in 4th. Houllier stayed 1 and a half year after we started turning in poor performance after poor performance, so I do not think it is fair to sack Rafa after 3 and a half months of poor performances.

I think I want him to stay.

He obviously cares for the club and I don't see who we could get better to replace him

and I have a feeling the team and club would fall apart completely if he goes, especially the team

Do we really have to go through the entire rebuilding process again

Another 5 year plan eh?

This is getting ridiculous....Somehow, our players are losing their edge.  Its like they are not playing with their heart anymore. (This is what you eventually get when the manager believes playing with the head and not the heart).

The players look as if they are just going through the motion.....

Can you seriously blame them...when benitez is always on the touchline shouting instructions to them to always track back. Its like he is not allowing them to express themselves on the pitch.

And the worst part is i don't see a way out .... When we were struggling in the 1st few matches in the champions league...the usual suspects kept saying...we will deffo qualify as we usually do under benitez. Bang.....What happened ? We are out...

Now they are saying (including benitez's PR man G.Ballague in football focus)....no sweat....we always have an awsome run in the 2nd half of the season...because we always do under benitez.....

Well i just hope they are right about it....because, with the team playing as if they don't give a $hit....i don't think it will make that much a difference even if we have our 1st 11 out there (especially if the 1st 11 consists of average players like Kuyt, Lucas, Riera, Insua, Auerlio)....
