Awful manager :D

Came to a foreign league and won the premiership in his first season for first time in about 50 years for Chelsea, then won it the second season too. His third season they missed out by a few points but won the FA cup.

Add in the fact that they never lost at home.

YEAH - chump manager :D

And how has he left chelsea? An over aged, over paid bunch of prima donnas. And now Roman will have to spend about another 100 million to do it again.

I'll tell you what, you give ME 100 million and the Chelsea reigns and i'll get you the premiership ffs...

Mourinhio.. good manager, awful man

Well... personally i find him to be a great manager and i couldnt care less about how he conducts himself outside the pitch... as long as hes successful and gets the job done i'd love to have him in charge at liverpool..

yeah, lets dive more as well, and do some hand ball goals, and get others sent off... as long as we win the league at any cost

They would have won the CL last year if scumbag Terry hadn't slipped when taking the "winning" penalty, this year they missed out by a last minute goal by Barca who then destroyed United. Despite the chaos of Scolari, they ended up just a few points behind us and won the FA cup too.

Not exactly a mess.

i'd sell Alonso to bring in Mourinho and would think its a good move... wouldnt mind us winning with our manager calling every other diick and harry kunts and taking all credit to himself... wouldnt mind a bit of diving and some contentious goals either....it would make me a bit of a d1ck i know but i can live with it...

Mourinho is a pr!ck, cant stand the man, everyone he goes he causes sh!t. As far as selling Alonso to get him...NOT A CHANCE. Maureen can do one as far as I'm concerned, I reckon Rafa will be locking horns with him again in the future, I reckon he will be Man U's next boss. Every club he's went to he hasn't exactly had to build a squad on a budget has he? He's inherited great squads and won with them, not exactly the greatest achievement in my eyes anyway
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Certainly wasn't the case at his first major club Porto mate (the one where he won the UEFA Cup and then the Champions League in two seasons), nor the one before that whose name escapes me. A pr!ck quite possibly, but if you take ten minutes or so to read through some of the thread it's hard to conclude that he's not a top manager. I did much of the research myself just out of interest. Mourinho had predictably been totally slagged off by most on here and I just decided to properly look at his record as opposed to just going for the "yes but he bought the league angle" which often gets trotted out.

Anyway it's all there in the thread. I'd go as far as saying anybody who reads it and then comes to the conclusion that he is a sh!t manager is either consumed by hate, or is an idiot.

I think Rafa is a better manager.. and more importantly, a better man.

That's fair enough Daws', it's all opinions at the end of the day. The "better man" thing is hard to argue with or agree with as none of us have met either. I guess it depends upon which particular slant you are prepared to believe on quotes etc. I've no idea if Shankly was a nicer bloke than Paisley or Kenny Dalglish. It's hard to judge. I think Fergusons a bit of a c..., but I guess if  you were a Man Utd fan you'd disagree. Also in his case many people in football say there's nothing like him.

As for the better manager argument, once more it's hard to judge really. If it's purely on record then there's absolutely no comparison, but in fairness to Rafa it's not quite as simple as that. I do think though three seasons without a trophy at a slub the size of Liverpool having spent the funds we have and having had the services of Steven Gerrard for free is quite a long time. We probably need to win something soonish to preserve Rafa's standing amongst the elite.

Top managers win trophies, they always have.
