You claim Baros shows no intelligence in his runs,an erratic 1st touch and his awareness of others is non existant but yet that described Cisse's performance last night as he more than most should not be caught offside with his awesome pace and yet against slow defenders he was caught offside countless times.
You say Cisse is lacking in confidence but he hardly strikes me as lacking in confidence and after scoring he should have been buzzing.
Yet against west brom Baros showing good awareness put Cisse clean through on goal with a great little ball which Cisse hit straight at the keeper.
As for Baros' goal last night if that had of been your hero owen you would have been raving about him showing his class.
What is your excuse for his awesome record at international level
No doubt all the keepers he scored against were useless.
I have nothing against Baros other than the fact he's not good enough. I'm sick to death of knowledgeless idiots championing players that aren't all that good. Baros is a GOOD player, NOTHING MORE!!! He's in the same class of the likes of Murphy, Carragher, Henchoz etc etc.
Secondly, i know plenty about football. I judge players on ability. NOT FORM!!! Hence the reason i didn't rate Baros any higher or lower after the Euro's. I hadn't seen anything there that he hadn't shown for Liverpool. He didn't suprise me at all. Not in the slightest, thats the reason i put a fiver on him at 60 to 1 to be the top goalscorer. A good player, playing in a very good side.
How many times was Cisse caught offside? Check your facts. Also, you won't hear me saying Cisse doesn't need to work on that side of his game untill i've seen more of him. Cisse however has shown bits of everything in his game. Its just a case of it all coming together.
Cisse hardly strikes you as lacking in confidence? Well ok lad, you go an replace one of the worlds best strikers and an anfield legend with a 14million pound price tag and see if after 5 or 6 games you can totally relax into your normal game... Not many players can. He'll start to relax more half way through the season.
Your comment on Baros showing awarenss... it was hardly awareness lad. Cisse ran infront of him, screamed for a pass and got it. You wanna see awareness? Watch Garcia... You wanna see a lack of it? Watch Baros!!! Big difference. The amount of times Milan holds the ball when he should pass is shocking and also his general link up play is very average to be polite.
Excuse for his record at international level? Right theres no excuse. He's done well. He's a good player as i've said many times with some excellent attributes. The fact that he's playing with Rosicky... Koller... Nedved counts for nothing? I tell you what... i'd be suprised if Andy Cole wouldn't have a similar record playing for the czechs in his prime. Also, look at the teams he's scored against and look at the number of games he's started and played in. Check his competative stats aswell lad.
Baros' goal last night... erm... wrong again lad. Had Baros missed and not squared the ball i'd have gone mad. Had Owen, or Kewell, or Gerrard or Fowler, Or McManaman when they played for us done the same, i'd go mad. I was ****** off with Luis Garcia the other day, but at least he had a reason, Baros didnt. Had he squared that i'd have thought more of him as an individual and thought he'd improved an aspect of his game. But the fact is he didn't. He took his chance though, i just hope next time he does whats best for the team and not what he thinks is best for himself.
Whoever said all the goalkeepers he scored against were useless? All i said was, Sorensen made two massive mistakes. Which he did. If that was a goalkeeper for my team, i'd have gone mad at them. If you actually watched with a neutral mind instead of championing Baros you'd see both goals were partially down to bad goalkeeping. The first was down to him not reading the pass and he stayed in his 6 yard box. He had plenty of time to come off his line but he chose to stay which was bad goalkeeping. Then the second he went down far to early.
I myself was made up with Milan at the Euro's. I was cheering him on every game and was made up for him. However, when everyone came back on here telling us all how he should start, i still said it should have been Owen and Cisse. Now we have Garcia and Cisse, both are better players and both should start ahead of him.
You silly dog. I'd throw you a bone if I could.
