If by "few" you really mean "one".

yeah a team of kids against proven internationals. at least Wenger has the balls to give the kids a chance unlike our manager. will we ever see all those highly rated players like Pacheco or will they get disillusioned and move on?

Not argueing about that I am pointing out that its a load of sh!te that they where kids playing last night. Bendtner, Van Persie and Clichy all missing through injury otherwise it was pretty much Arsenals first 11.
Thomas Rosicky,Vermalen, Arshavin, Sylvestre, Eboue, Sagna, Edwardo,
Fabianski all kids?
I must be a teenager then if this lot are classed as kids.

then it was a long list of spurs managers.
i dont have the numbers so i hope its on there again today.................or wonder if our stats man can come up with them or his view on it.
what i dont understand is what they say is a bad buy, what might be a good buy for us they might say was a bad buy.
by the Arsene Wenger was last with the best results.............thats what you get if you mug off overseas teams for young players.
Bad Buys ? Yes people like dossena and babel prob the two expensive ones as flops totally twenty million - keane was a mistake as opposed to a flop . Where as chelsea ?!? 30 million for schevchenko alone is more than our flops , mancs including veron nani etc must be lots more . Who did they have as our bad buys ?

bigmick wrote:I must confess I always find it a bit odd when some of our fans give it the old "well what about arsenal, they've won feck all either" each season. It's odd for a couple of reasons.
Firstly and formostly, I couldn't really give a feck about Arsenal and I'm surprised they can either. I aspire to get infront of the teams which actually win trophies, namely Chelsea and Manchester United over the last few seasons (I'm not going to count Portsmouth under Redknapp as it was probably a one off). To be totally frank, if we finish fifth this season and just so happen to finish ahead of Arsenal (or anybody else for that matter) I couldn't give a feck and I wouldn't be celebrating, I'm surprised others would. I wouldn't quite go as far as the old first is everything second is nowhere carry on, but we really ought to be trying to challenge to win trophies if at all possible.
The other reason I'm surprised that people pick on Arsenal for a comparison is that even the staunchest pro-Rafa supporter in the World would surely accept that of all the teams around us, Arsenal have been the most miserly in the transfer market. Wenger has built the team on the best part of feck all, so quite why the same people who constantly bemoan us "shopping in the bargain basement" think we are a reasonable comparison to Arsenal is a mystery to me.
It comes back to that "real fan" thing I think. If you are a "real fan", you generally have fairly low aspirations it seems to me. If on the other hand you aren't a "real fan", then it's unlikely that you'll get the bunting out should the team get in front of Arsenal, which it didn't on this occasion obviously because they knocked us out.
