How about the little leprechaun's outburts about Rafa at a pivotal point in the season two months ago causing anarchy in the press and possibly throughout the whol club? Seems that every single time the manager's job is questioned, one of the kunts comes out with a statement to unsettle things. Is that coincidence? They want the manager to walk, simple as that. They don't want to pay out. They'll stoop lower than a snakes balls to get him to do that. That must be galling for a manger to put up with, nevermind the players. Oh, and have you developed some kind of memory disfunction or something? How many injuries have we had again? Oh, I forgot - a team should still be able to function if you injure the entire squad. I mean, if it were United or Chelsea, they would cope, right? Right? Now, someone kindly go and check the stats for that one regarding the other teams. I know United had a problem with injuries last season and they'd a very poor start. Arsenal the season before had bad injuries in the middle, and they eventually slumped and gave the title to United. Injuries DO take their toll on ANY side. We've had the worst injury list in recent memory at this club this season. In 25 years or so of me supporting this club, I've not seen an injury list like it. We'd possibly still be in Europe and maybe half a dozen points better off in the league but for it.
If the owners wanted rid of Rafa, why give him a bumper 5 year deal?
What other options had they at the time? Surely you haven't forgotten the whole Klinsman saga? If that isn't proof enough that they haven't a clue what to be doing, nothing is. I'm fairly confident that it was fan pressure that forced that deal.
Fan pressure

The only reason they gave him a five year deal was because the banks insisted on stability at the club BEFORE they would renew the loan. Thats why Gerrard and Torres were both tied down with new deals.
They thought they got guaranteed CL football with Rafa. You don't need to win anything ......they have even got Rafa saying it now.
