When Jose Antonio Reyes first came for Arsenal he struggled, look at him now.

STOP LIVING IN THE PAST STU!!
Owen up front you say. Even if Owen was around he would have been on the bench last night. And if he was around we couldn't have afforded our two spanish matadors. During the last few years Owen never showed the physical strenght and drive as the current team showed last night. I'm perfectly happy without Owen, and I think the money we received from the Owen sale was put to it's best use. I dare anyone to say they take Owen over the spanish duo Garcia and Alonso. With Owen I'm not so sure we would have witnessed the slick passing and the wonderful fluid attacking football as we saw last night. Owen was one dimensional which limited our attacking play.
Also look at the difference between last nights performance and a normal Liverpool game under Houllier. I'm really impressed. We put pressure on them from the first kick on the ball. Chasing them around like mad dogs, putting in tackles all over the pitch. Closing them down, denying them space, pressure, pressure, pressure;; PURE CLASS. Monaco was torn to pieces. This team looks really solid. And we are only going to get better. 5 years of mismanagement and bull.sh.it football can't be remedied in a month. But we are finally going in the right direction. Look at Josemi. A crowd favourite already. What a game he had last night. Beautiful passes, crunching tackles and some powerful runs. If that is what Benitez can get for £ 2 million I say wow. And what about the rest? Carragher looks two times the player in central defence than on right back. He does not need to go forward and do all the stuff a good fullback should do. Now he can concentrate on what he knows best. Defending and tackling. I can even see a big improvement on his passing and positioning. He won't have to listen to all the criticism about his lack of skills going forward any more, and his self confidence is increasing with every game. Sami looks more fresh, big stong and a good reader of thew game. Riise has improved 50% defensively and will soon start banging goals again.
Our midfield is looking good. We don't have to watch more poor play by the likes of Midget Murphy and Chicken breast Cheyrou. Now we have a midfield full of strong determined and creative players. Alonso can unlock any defence, and Gerrard is probably the best young midfielder in the world right now. Kewell and Warnock will fight for a place on the left. Our main weakness right now is right midfield. Finnan, average at best, will be replaced soon. What about Garcia. A more creative, hard working and skillful player is hard to find anywhere in the world. Everything he does is quality. He makes sliding tackles, he passes the ball around with perfect accuracy, he makes clever runs and so on and so on. I fear the opposition will give him very tough treatment, trying to take him out of our games. I only hope he can stay injury free and that referees give him the protection he deserves. I'd hate to see a pri.ck like Lucas Neill brake his leg.
Our forwards, well what can I say. I'm dissappointed with Cisse. He does not look like a goal machine to me. Instead of finishing with the inside of his foot, he goes for power every time. Baros looked more dangerous when he came on. And he was more calm with the ball inside the box. Cisse is still young and I know he will improve. At least I hope he can.
Overall I'm happy with the team and I feel we are going places. Benitez is the one. He will make us shine. I think I know what went through Houlliers head when he left the stadium last night. And I think you know too
