Awesome. Very intelligent and seems more settle in now. The chemistry was there and our midfield would be one of the best to come in years! As for last night, I think one of the main reason we played well was sticking to the 4-4-2 formation instead of 4-5-1. I'm really impressed with Rafa because after the Bolton game, he switched back right away to 442 and if it was GH, he would stick to his ego and continue to play until we were out of it. It was just a joy to watch them but it seems we were not that good in the department of finishing. To be honet, we should have won 4-0 or 5-0 last night. We just need to put the game away early. I was sweating because of us not able to score with the chances we had. Luckily Baros scored late. Anyway, good job lad! :)

We haven't seen enough of Alonso. He has looked solid, but not stood out yet which I expect over time.

It is difficult for any player to stand out next to Gerrard though :D

I thought he was absolute class from start to finish. Every touch, movement, drop of the shoulder is done with the minimum of fuss. He looks like he was born to play for Liverpool to me. Its refreshing to see big money being spent on a player and then it being obvious when he plays why he cost so much.
I think Stevie might even learn a thing or two off this lad, he'll certainly learn off Stevie and we could be looking at one of the best central midfield partnerships in Europe. However all things take time so lets not all get too carried away.

I have to say Alonso looked awesome last night.

Solid, great range of passing, very comfortable on the ball.

He linked really well with gerrard which bodes well for the future. I can see them become an awesome combination. I think their passing will become telepathic the more they play together.

I havent been more excited in ages.  :)

Me neither. You know that you're excited when you scream on the top of your lungs after seeing that Liverpool is in the lead against Monaco.   :suspect:

He also has the look of a guy who will have a good shot as well. He strikes his long passes so cleanly that this must surely be the case. When we first signed him they showed a clip on Sky of him scoring from long range though I don't know if this is the norm or not.

I think last nights game saw the end of Hamann as a 1st team regular as Alonso was pure class. :D
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

agree!

I havent got anything o say that hasnt already been said, but Alonso made the pass of the game!

In the first half when Liverpool were attacking the kop end and someone laid a short pass back to alonso who whacked it clean, fast down the right wing,to keep the pressure on which got a roar from the kop.
what a pass! I was in Awe at it.

you aint gonna get that from danny murphy, and alonso has only played 2 games!

Garcia and alonso are guys who know how to play

Luv it

Hamman is a good player believe it or not but Alonso is obiviously better. Still Hamman should be kept and not sold like some have said

Alonso was touted to be on a par with Gerrard if not better... when he arrived.

Hamman is good but Alonsoooo is class... and class always shines through..  :) U can't compare Hamman with Alonso.. there is no comparison
