Kuyt's defensive abilities especially with Johnson in the team make him the starter on the right. We are more balanced (defensively) with Kuyt in the team. Against a team that plays 10 behind the ball I would agree, as Yossi is much better creatively.

Take these four players in the OP out of any top side, and the side will be greatly poorer for it, so to answer the OP's question, yes, we should be a hell of a lot more stable with these in the side.

Spot on , with Johnson we have a new dimension but also are vulnerable to counter attacks thats where kuyt will cover johnson when he's attacking

Yep, fair enough Sabre, I just hope he's starts off playing a blinder.

Benayoun does his fair share of defending and tracking back... He also offers much more than Kuyt does in terms of retaining possession and bringing forwards into play...

Perhaps what we need is for Johnson is to start playing more like a fullback, recognizing his defensive duties, rather than trying to do both his and Kuyt's job in terms of vuilding up play down the flank...

Would give us a little more balance at both ends i would think....

As things stand, with Aquilani and Riera out of the side, i'd definitely consider playing a 4-4-2 to try and get the players defending a little better as a unit... in a 4-4-2 i think its alot easier for the wingers to double up with the fullbacks to cover the flanks and the 2 in the middle can cover more dangerous positions deeper rather than having our defending players stretched like they are now...

Said it ages ago, that as soon as the goals dry up, Kuyts contribution to the side becomes almost nonexistent.. With everyone back fit and ready i think having Benayoun, Riera, Aquilani, Gerrard and Torres as our attacking players will take much of the pressure off the likes of Mascherano and Johnson, allowing them to concentrate a little more on their defensive duties...

Sagna, Clichy, Evra, Bridge, Ramos, Alves...etc etc.... all dont have players who can defend for sh!t playing ahead of them, yet still manage to cope pretty well

I personally can't wait for these 4 all to be on the pitch at the same time.

Reina, Johnson, Carra, Agger, Aurelio, Kuyt, Mascherano, Aquilani, Yossi, Gerrard, Torres.

I've been thinking oabout how good our line up will look with everyone fit. Looks class doesnt it. I cant wait, hopefully we'll start kicking the :censored: out of all the teams around us when everyones fit and ready. The bench will look a lot healthier as well

Riera, Skrtel, N'Gog, Babel, Lucas, Insua

better than what we've seen recently thats for sure
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Well, THAT seems to be a very good team, should be able to run for the PL title.
