easier said than done. with the three you've listed there, the question is would anyone in their right minds sign any of them? voronin has been in the shop window for more than a year and hertha didn't fancy him. skrtel i do quite like although he's never been the same player since he got that serious injury. dossena, although he's been dire for us, is actually quite highly rated in italy so can see that happening. babel i can only see going on loan if anything.

Thomas Rosicky. In the final year of his contract at Arsenal, and can play either side or in behind. Really nice footballer.

I was talking about Rosky in the summer. I think he is a good footballer, not sure what his status is with being or not being offered a new deal or not or if he would take it or if he did leave if he would want to stay in England or not.  Does have an injury history, and so much so that he is like a luxury player, where you can almost count on him not being available and then its a bonus when he is fit.  Given the injury records of our other players, not sure if we can afford that luxury.

If we had 12 million I would go shopping in Germany. I think the Budesliga would be able to give us a "solid" player for our XI or at least a really quality cover that would feature often (or two) for pretty much any position. They seem to have a lot of creative midfielders even though the league lost Diego to Juve who would have been a great signing (pretty sure S@int rated him very highly as well)

Rosicky is prob too big a gamble in the same manner that I think Aquilani was/is. Then again, I'm sure if anybody at the club said that to Rafa he'd probably go ahead and buy him anyway out of spite....Can't be seen to question the main man Benitez, eh ?

Well apparently Rafa is supposed to work miracles with our budget .So if he doesn't bring in four world class players for £12 million i say sack him .

it will be around 25mil he will have to spend....it might even be more.

Jesus wept - is that the word in Merrill Lynch then ? So they now know how much Rafa is going to get for transfers....
Do they know if he wipes his hoop from front to back or the other way round, as well ?

Rosicky would be slightly less of a gamble than Aquilani mate as he'd be feck all in terms of a fee. He'd have only six months left on his deal so at the most you'd be looking at a couple of mill.

I think had he not been injured for so much of his time there he would of been offered a new deal, he is a great little player but right now a bit of a gamble. But then you are a betting man.

Indeed Rushie. I actually think Arsenal may well offer him a new deal to be honest, although I guess now they've got Arshavin (who says good players are never available) and untold exciting kids coming through, they might not as well.

Where are these figures coming from anyway? We didnt have a pot left to :censored: in the summer, is this money from the new deal?
Our wage budget increasing is just as important if not more so than transfer funds, thats why we are having to sell players before we can buy, players who we could have otherwise kept to add strenght to the squad.

I s'pose there are a couple of angles to that though if I'm not mistaken. If we offload Dossena for less than the 7M we spent on him, we're obviously out of pocket. We do save on his paypacket though....Same for some of the other dross in the squad. So we might get rid of 3-4 players and end up with one or two, so it could even itself up. And I'd be happy to see Voronin, Dossena, Lucas (to Gremio, if they're interested still ?) and maybe Babel (if we can get a buyer, get Nemeth back, and take a punt on Pacheco - why the phuck not ?)

Now theres a player (Arshavin) I cant fathom we wasnt in for, not even the slightest bit of interest.
Maybe his side wanted too much up front I dont know it doesnt make sence, even before we found out Keane wasnt up to it it was obvious he was the better player and younger for the same money.
Seems like a really good bloke too.

I suggest we steal Wenger's xmas lists. I seriously believe he can read into the future regarding players' potential. I think he just bought a new Maldini in the new guy, Vermaelen, who have scored 4 goals so far. As for we can buy with 12 mil, i have no idea.
