I do realise it mate, but he has already answered that question loads of times in better fashion than he managed this week.
I genuinley believe he was just giving the owners a little nudge.

As far as i know through various posts on other forums  the deal is done and dusted anyway . So why would he want to give anyone a nudge ? He has got what he wanted . It's just a bog standard interview ,with a careful answer . He has to be careful because people read into thngs he say's . They put 2+2 together and come up with 5 .

I really wish he would stop going on about Real Madrid every time there is a problem, he is the LIVERPOOL manager.

It's an interesting use of the phrase "we have still managed to compete". How exactly? By finishing below Chelsea and Man Utd? (often well below - and behind low budget Arsenal)

I read all too often how we're not in the same league financially, yet we outspend all but two (now probably three) clubs in the Premiership and finish above all but two/three clubs - isn't that punching our weight? We spent £40m in the summer, how much of that was wisely spent? It's not impossible to buy top players at good prices, you don't have to spend £20m-£30m per signing to land quality. If Rafa's such an f in genius, how come so many of his signings are poor and how come we draw against Stoke, Fulham, West Ham, Bitters, Hull, Wigan and other clubs in previous seasons some of whom can only dream of spending in one summer what we spend on one player (at times)

Have to laugh at the suggestion we "have built a team but economically" - Keane £20.3m, Torres £21m, Mascherano £18.6m, Babel £11.5m etc. If we are so economic then how come we spent £40m in the summer, only one of those players is considered a success (Riera) and one was such a flop he was sold back at a loss within six months?!?!?!?!?

How appropriate the guy's name is S.Lowe[/quote]
It's nothing to get hot under the collar about. You can hardly blame the guy for defending his stint at the club can you? wouldn't we all do the same?

Personally I don't have a problem with that. The manager should have control over every aspect of the footballing side of the club imo. Every coach/player should be answerable to the manager.

I am not sure which is the best approach in all honesty. I understand why a manager would want to oversee the youth players developement, but I also understand the need for continuity at youth level, that only an independent academy can really bring.

As with the transfer problem I think it would have been better to compromise and work together rather than creating a standoff. Obviously the real problem is that Rafa and Parry just cannot work together, which imo should mean Parry leaves and someone is brought in that can work alongside  Rafa, but not necessarily beneath him.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it? :D

I mean looking back you could argue that Rafa should have left The Academy largely to its own devices until he had the first team the way he wanted it. If he was unhappy with what they were doing, I'd have been more subtle about trying to bring them round to my way of thinking.

I'd also have tried to make Rick Parry my biggest ally, rather than my nemesis, but that relationship seems to have completely broken down.

Sometimes when a voice of reason tell it as it is we are blind to the truth. JBG said it all back then and 6 months later he's being proven right.  My Hat off to JBG
