So, where do we go from here?

Lets put a realistic sense on this:

1. Man Ure are winning, albeit just, but no playing well, which looks ominous in itself.

2. Chavski look good.

3. We have lost the last three in all competitions.

4. We have already lost more games this season than we did in the whole of the last one.

5. We're 8th in the league!

This is starting to change my slant on what we should be aiming for from this season. I'm starting to think perhaps, as we are stuttering in the league, we should perhaps change our focus to the Champions League and win a major trophy, rather than win nothing.

It is going to take a huge effort and change in fortune for us to get back up with the Mancs, although it is possible. We were the last the last team to win the league after loosing 4 of the first 9 games. However, that was back in like '63 when it was still 2 points for a win. But I am willing to give it 'til Xmas and see where we are then before i say we can't win the league this season.

I'm hoping we could have a bit of money to spend in January if the Prince can pump some money into the club. Which could just help us along the way. Saying that, I am loosing all faith i put behind Babel in the last couple of weeks, so we should get some money for him while we can still get something. Get some money from Voronin and we're on the right lines to enough money to buy some quality.

Maybe, just maybe, we will have to make some tough decisions and sacrifices to gain something this season?

I think before we get too carried away with our downbeat estimation of the teams performance so far this season, we shouldn't over indulge and hastily condemn ourselves to negative instances. Our situation can turn around as quickly as it came about and leave us in a position where we're all screaming from the roof tops 'Champions champions', well you get my drift.

Many things are not right, that there is no doubt, I've highlighted some of these issues in John Craig's thread. But it is still a little to early to push the panic button just yet. As pessimistic as our current postion seems, all is not lost; not yet anyway and a win against Lyon will paper over the cracks. Another win against the Mancs and sheets of plasterboard will appear, taking the place of current cracked walls.

However, if those results do not go our way, I'll get back to you :o)

Same number, unless you mean league only

League : 09/10 4-2 08/09
Europe : 09/10 1-1 08/09
CC : 09/10 0-1 08/09
FAC : 09/10 0-1 08/09

But still the point is valid in terms of the point being made that we're losing more than we should be considering it isn't even Hallowe'en and yet it's been pretty frightening since August

EDIT:

Yes, the league I'm on about mate. There is trophies up for grabs, we just need to find the best ways of winning them, and this may cause for some eye opening sacrifices to be made.

you should never give up on the league.  Obviously there needs to be a serious improvement in our performance, but any team can take points off anyone this year.

It is a long time till then end of the season and definatley not time to give up and focus somewhere else.

Here is a really positive outlook on things.  We are still in all competitions! :p
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

We need 4 wins and a draw in next 5 matchs in league for me to stand any chance to get back into it.
