Player ratings as i saw it last night:
Dudek 5 – Had little to do so it seems unnecessary giving him a rating. comfortable on crosses but some suggestions that he still needs to communicate with the back four better
Jossemi 7 – For what we paid it looks like a steal. Here' a full back who can do what full backs are meant to - support the midfielders and attackers whilst going forward, while defending solidly in their own half
Hyypia 8 – At last Sami looks like he's getting back top his best - the rock at the back
Carragher 7 - Partnership with Hyypia as centre back really coming together
Riise 6 – Nothing spectacular but his defending has improved leaps and bounds. Slipped up a couple of times but overall pretty solid
Finnan 7 – Linked up well on the right flank with Josemi in the first half and then faded a little in the second. Still has looked far better than when coming back from injury in the second half of last season. Offers us genuine width. If he keeps performing like this, Numez will really have a fight on his hands to push into the first team
Alonso 7 – Crisp passer, defensively sound and great reader of the game - a younger and fresher Didi Hamann
Gerrard 8 - Although he now has others to share his phenemonal workload, was still the heartbeat of the team and the driving force behind all of our best moves
Kewell 7 – A few duff moments but overall reminded us of why we signed him in the first place and was a threat throughout
Garcia 8 – Despite fluffing two clear cut opportunities, Garcia was at the heart of almost every attack with nice little flicks and one twos with other players. A real creative force which is just what we have been needing. Once he sharpens up this guy could be one oif the Premierships biggest success stories. Let's hope so
Cisse 6 – Well taken goal and alert throughout the game, although his ball control again let him down. Missed a glorious opportunity when one on one with the keeper
One general comment, which has been picked up by other posters, was how much I enjoyed watching us play - direct, stylish and incisive football with a real flow to it - I don't remember too many games like that under the old regime.
