It would be madness to let him leave.

Agree.

He's well worth it despite his injury records. To get another back-up would cost the earth at present market conditions.

Having said that, we do need another left back.... not as a back-up but a 1st teamer. I like Insua and he's a more than tidy player..... but long term, we need a wee bit more quality. Quality that Aurelio can supply when fit.

That's absolutely right. All this creaming of pants over Insua is just another example of people "going with the flow."

He's good, but nothing extraordinary.

Unfortunately, that will never change.

Aurelio has everything a fullback needs and more.

Except a good fitness record and a good player is only a good player if fit..........................

The mancs took a gamble on Owen, a reason plenty didn't. Good player when fit, not much use when not.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I guess some doctors at Manchester United thought that what they had on front of them was a case of nightmare of injuries that didn't have to happen again.

Which is exactly the same thing I hope happens with Aurelio. I think he's our best LB.

Hope we cut him on January and not wait for next season...

Just like Arbelloa nothing special ,except a free kick here and there offers us nothing on the left side ,not quick enough not skillful enough just a very medium squad player at best.

He and Lucas do give a real fight to who is less brazilian then the other.

I disagree, Arbeloa was decent-goodish, nothing especial. Fabio Aurelio is stronger in both legs, has a better touch, and has a better control.

For me, when fit, Fabio Aurelio is way better, but admittedly he hasn't shown as much as his quality would require, where as Arbeloa probably played close to his best most of the time.

Aurelio was fkg awful against Sunderlan. Prefer Insua as a defender which is his first job.

Settling for Aurelio and everyone saying that he is a decent player just shows how much the standards have come down at Anfield.

Dont get me wrong he im sure he is a nice bloke and tbh is an ok player, but he is AVERAGE AT BEST. The perfect andswer as to why our squad lies strength in depth, because we have too many Aurelli types

he was excellent the other day i thought. infact i think he's a seriously underrated player full stop. when you see how he performed compared to babel the previous week it was like night and day.

brilliant left foot aswell.

Agree on that, he was excellent. He always takes a few games to get back to form and the truth is that every time he has got a decent run in the side (without getting injured) he's been a VERY consistent performer. If we could only keep him for an entire season!

Liverpool full-back Fabio Aurelio has been recalled to the Brazil squad by national coach Dunga.

The South Americans are set to face England and Oman in a friendly double-header in November.

With those games set to take place in the Middle East, Dunga has named a 24-man travelling party made up entirely of European-based players so as not to disrupt the run-in to the Brazilian championship.

As a result, Porto striker Hulk, Hoffenheim forward Carlos Eduardo and Lyon full-back Michel Bastos are called upon for the first time.

Liverpool ace Aurelio will be hoping to earn his first senior cap, while Manchester City playmaker Robinho is also included despite missing his country's last two World Cup qualifiers through injury.

Fair play to the lad, would be great to see him at the World Cup.
"If Everton were playing at the bottom of the garden, I'd pull the curtains."

He is better than average, don't get me wrong he isn't an amazing player, but when he is fully healthy and on form he is far better than "average".
