If its not working after 45 then do something at half time

Some will try and absolve Rafa of blame when things don't go right, but I couldn't see fergie or whoever is Chelsea manager at the time waiting until more than 2/3 of the game has passed and the game is well on its way to being lost. 2-0 down at half-time I think both clubs would have made at least one change, it's almost a shock if Rafa changes anything before the 60th minute. So the point is it may not have been his fault that the players weren't performing, but the power was in his hands to change formation, tactics, personnel etc etc.
Rafa probably sees half-time as an opportunity to blame the players rather than try and fix things. And after match interviews a chance to blame something other than himself or his tactics. It is true that how well the players play will determine the chances of winning, but doing nothing also determines the chances of changing the way a game is going. Hoping the team improves is perhaps a little over-optimistic, suggests to me perhaps he has way too much faith in his tactics

Toe-curlingly cringey

Me too I just hate it when players talk at all really breaks the feeling for me I just like to think of them as little sprites that run around the pitch all game being controled by Rafas Mind bullets.
