Ian Rush was never the same player when he came back. But his return from Juv was welcome as he was a Liverpool legend.
You cannot compare Rushy's contribution to the LFC to Owen's contribution. And Rushy left when he'd achieved everything with LFC. Owen left before any meaningful success whatsoever. One FA Cup is a joke compared to what Rushy delivered to us. The double, and an FA Cup win against the Everton scum.
Michael is merely following in McManaman's footsteps. He will be on the bench and will be traded to Man City or another middle of the table club.
I watched him play in Spain on the weekend. He missed 2 one-on-one chances with the goalie. The first one was not even on target. You should have seen Camacho's face. He spent most of the time screaming to Owen to be more involved in the build up play, and not just look to be played through.
Michael is not skillful enough to play in Spain, let alone Madrid.
He will get a run this year, but will fall behind Morientes mid-season.
He will be nowhere near the player he was a couple of years back after Madrid offload him. And sentiments aside, he will not be good enough to play again in the Liverpool shirt
This boy has made the mistake of his career. I had scorn for him, but now just pity. He should never have listened to monkeys like Erikson and Beckham.
