You'd think we'd a team full of dead wood, and Rafa let go a bunch of world beaters.

Its not the team thats the problem, its the quality of the squad players or distinct lack of options in attack thats the main problem.
I would have virtually every one of the strikers we have let go at this moment in time.
By that i dont mean that we should have kept them all. Just that the players that we have in reserve now are not good enough.
Cisse
Bellamy
Crouch
Keane
Pongolle
Fowler
Baros

Every one of them i would have over Ngog and Voronin.

I'm not surprised the way Rafa treated him. That really showed up Rafa's lack of man-management.

blah blah

It's amazing how there's still complaints about our attacking prowess given the number of goals we're scoring. Right now the attack is the last of my concerns

fowler hasn't been fit for 7 years and is now playing in the australian league  :upside:

Voronin is fit, and has spent the last x number of years playing in 2 of the top leagues in europe.

It's a no-brainer when you think about it    :idea

hmm, interesting one.

id say danny murphy, from my understanding he never wanted to go anyway and wouldnt have minded the bench. and he could certainly do a job for us at the moment in the centre. but we had the best midfield in the world not too long ago apparently, heh. so i dunno if he would have ever got a chance.

bellamy i would have kept, but his attitude was his problem....would have kept luis a bit longer too. crouch would be a good option, but he wanted first team football at the time. there was a good reason to part ways for all the players i would have kept. but alonso should still be here.

Fowler yesterday perhaps more appropriate...  :kungfu:

If you have no brain it is yes.

I dont care what leagues Voronin has played in, he is rubbish and Fowler even half fit is twice the player.
Intelligence first touch passing ability.
Even if he just stood there in the hole behind Torres you would get miles more end product than what Voronin offers.

i think your argument falls down a bit there mate  :D

if we're gonna go down the fowler route, why not bring back rushie?

I've watched most of Fowlers games in the A League and he retains no more than 25% of his capabilites. He is two yards slower than even in his final year with us, and can only influence the game in snatches. He is only able to operate effectively in non crowded areas of the pitch, and has lost a bit of his spring in terms of heading.

He really is a shadow of his former glories, but is still a far better player than either Voronin or N'Gog.

Fowler NOW in his current physical state couldnt do a job in the prem imo - sad to say it really but last time he played (Blackburn i think) he wasnt even in the game . Yes he could prob still finish if handed on a plate but he just wasnt up to the pace of the prem  - Voronin while not the best can still add the odd thing in the prem and Ngog is still starting out but the pace and physical of the prem is too much of a bother with him - think it harsh to compare them as there is nothing to compare them .

I would take voronin and  ngog over Fowler now which is sad thing to say :(
