Banned members returning. - Is everyone coming back?

I've noticed a couple of previously banned members returning recently, and it's a good thing (despite the fact that in many cases they resume exactly where they left off as far as I'm personally concerned). I've always said that all genuine Liverpool fans, none wind ups and the like should be given every accomodation to firstly not get banned in the first place, and secondly be allowed back as soon as possible.

With that in mind, are any of the sine die members going to be allowed back? I can think of three members in particular who have been banned never to return, who coincidently were generally to be found on a particular side of most arguements (which happens to be the opposite side of the argument to that of the recently returned "banees".

Not trying to start a row or anything, just curious.

I just think the forums at its liveliest and healthiest when there is a spectrum of views. On the odd occasion that I've fecked off, or S@int fecks off or even GYBS whatever, the forum suffers. When I've been on extended holidays, I've popped back in to read and the forum gets pretty boring prety quick without its resident pantomine villain for people to have a go at, and I say that knowing full well somebody will accuse me of bigging myself up (whatever the feck that means) but I'm definately not.

All that's all OK, and undoubtedly by my stance on many issues I invite some ridicule/abuse/snide remarks I suppose, but it does get a wee bit tiresome on occasions when you're debating with the whole forum on certain issues, in a minority of one. Much as people have a pop at the likes of Heimdall, or Ace, or GYBS they are the characters which make the place better. Similarly, some of the banned members were infuriating for many members, but they made the place better.

I think the new rules are working well, and I can't see how they wouldn't work for some of the "lifers" as well.

Who would you vote to allow back?

And what 3 members does bigmick believe have been hard done by because of their views?

I never did say that I thought anybody had been hard done by. I said I could think of three members who are sine die (that's probably not how you spell it) meaning they are "lifers", banned never to return.

There could well be more, but the three people I can immediately think of are Bamaga Man, Peewee and Stu the Red. There was also that young foreign lad (Alex was it?) and no doubt there are others too.

I wasn't trying to start a campaign, I just raised the issue. Some of the members who have been allowed back (rightly) were pretty out of order before they left, and i was just curious as to whether or not the same forgiving philosophy extended towards them is going to be extended towards all members.

As I say, the new rules seem to have reigned in most of the silliness, and as long as they are applied with an even hand and each poster is treated equally, there's no reason as far as I can see why they wouldn't work for everyone.

Are all 3 still pming people here?

If not how do you know they all want to come back?

Bet the mods have an easy life since some of the trouble causers have been banned.

Who would that be?  I'm genuinely curious.  ???

As for letting the permanently banned return, my view--to cover the same old ground one last time (any chance of that? ??? )--is that each of them was permanently banned for very good reasons that had nothing to do with their football views and everything to do with how they 'interacted' (and still interact) with particular posters.  They're gone and we're doing just fine without them thank you very much.  I tend to get a little frustrated when I see these periodic public appeals for reinstatement, as though they've been hard done by and as though we need them to make the forum interesting again.  They haven't and we don't, simple as.  TBPH, if there was a scenario where some of these 'loveable miscreants' were returned to the fold on a wave of popular support you could find someone else to help moderate this place.  I'd be done.

Only one person i would never ever want to see back here others no idea as didnt interact with people like bamaga man etc . Cant see the problem with the forum at the moment - seems nice and solid and steady and debate flows nicely along with the odd heated exchange but you dont seem the personal insults that used to fly around on a daily basis - think the mods have done a very good job lately despite being unable to please everyone . Cant remember the last time there was amajor fall out and can thank the mods for that

I am not sure exactly how many have been banned for life (or who most of them are!) so MY VOTE WOULD HAVE BEEN TO ALLOW THEM ALL BACK.

Of the posters who I think have been banned for life I would have liked to have seen Bamaga man and Stu allowed back. Both add a lot to the football discussion, and certainly Bamaga man rarely caused any problems until he felt he had been unfairly treated by a MOD. (When he admittedly did over-react) He did post a FULL APOLOGY WHICH WAS ACCEPTED. I am not really sure why he was LATER banned for life but presumably it was something to do with the aftermath of when Woof threatened him ?

While there would always be a danger in allowing Stu back (conflict with other posters, old grudges etc) I don't think there are many posters who would be troubled by Bamanga mans return....... maybe a few MOD'S might but few posters.

So my final vote would be for Bamaga as last man standing

Regarding peewee, I am no longer sure just what to believe, I have heard two VERY different stories and have no idea of the truth, so I would be happy to leave that decision in the hands of the members IF WE HAD A VOTE ..... or even the MOD'S.

On behalf  'of a friend' - you know......by proxy - i would be disappointed if there were no will served where there is indeed a 'way'.  :;):  Besides...outstanding contributions to Science/Nature...this forum or indeed matters of the 'cloth' - neither of 'The Fallen' have imparted.

So.....no great loss in my book. We move on.

I'd vote Stu and Peewe back...

Dont know if its just me, but the whole football section of the forum seems a little dull nowadays...

Not going to get into why certain members were banned but all ill say is that whatever it was, im sure people can get over it...
