Just seen this on another site:
"The Anfield pitch is too small to stage European football, and along with Arsenal and Chelsea we have been granted exemptions by UEFA to stage European games.
Anfield, Highbury and Stamford Bridge along with FC Matav Sopron of Hungary, KSK Beveren of Belgium and Hearts in Scotland have pitches that do not match the required dimensions of 105m by 68m.
Hearts applied for an exemption but were refused by UEFA in December last year and were told that no exception would be made. As a result Hearts will play their UEFA Cup tie on Thursday night and future European games at Murrayfield.
However exemptions were granted to Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in order for them to play their games in the Champions League.
It is not known how long Liverpool's exemption will last for."
That's a new one on me, I didn't think there was a regulation size for pitches. No wonder we have never been awarded a European Final.
to be honest i always thought highbury was dead small and can see why arsenal get from one end to the other so quickly.
i didnt think anfield was that small though.
